question on piercing "down there"

If one were thinking of getting a piercing "down there", what part exactly would get pierced?

I am a woman by the way, I don't need info on male parts but info on healing and discomfort would be appreciated also.

Are you old enough to post on this site? I question if you are because most of us who are over 18, have progressed past calling it 'down there' and refer to the specifics of clit or labia piercing.

I've seen pictures of a vertical clitoral hood piercing and I wanted to go down a woman with one. The things I have seen on line suggest that it is a great addition to oral sex, but those may be self-selected posts, like, if you got a piercing and it sucked, would a piercing site want that info up?

Raventale, I have already sat through a five hour tattoo job. I'm not too concerned with the pain of the actual piercing, but the time it takes to heal and not be sore.

i am a piercer, who is also pierced 'down there'!

i did my own piercing, and found it to be relatively painless - given that i was piercing such a delicate part of my anatomy, i expected a whole s***load more pain.

but it all depends on how high your own pain threshold is - some say it kills, while others say it's almost nothing.
and some of that also depends on the skill and speed of your piercer.

horizontal piercings hurt less than vertical clit hood piercings.
both have the same healing times though.
the entire vulval area is filled with blood vessels, so healing is generally much faster than anywhere else.

mine took less than a week for me to take it for a 'test drive', but your piercer might have different instructions for you.

follow the after-care instructions you are given, and you should be fine.

Thanks warrior queen, sexysoutherngal and everyone else for all your information. Like I mentioned earlier I have already made it through a couple of tattoos, one took over four hours and a belly button piercing.
The tattoo took a while to heal, my clothes kept ripping off the scabs. The belly button was fine, I can stand the initial pain I was curious about the healing.

My husband decided on horizontal. Now I have to get up the nerve to actually ask the piercer to do it.

i think that clit piercings can look quite beautiful and exotic, i would never get one though. i'm such a chicken, i want to get an industrial (in my ear) and it will take me a long time to even work up to that. i can imagine the labia piercings not hurting nearly as much, but i wouldn't get one, because personally i don't find those as attractive.

I have to tell you I got up the nerve to go to the tattoo shop yesterday, and they were closed for renovations. I already knew the tattoo artist/body piercer there from previous tattoos, now I don't know whether to wait for him or go to another shop where I don't know anyone.

just a quick note to let you know, that an industrial piercing (i'm assuming you mean a double upper ear? with a long bar that goes through both holes?) can take up to 12 months to heal fully.
and even then, if you're one of the unlucky 20%, you might find that it reinflames every couple of months or so.

unfortunately, cartilage piercings take the longest to heal, and are the most troublesome.

but, once healed, they look totally awesome!

i say wait and go back to the person you already know.
either that, or take the time to get to know another piercer, and their establishment and methods, before leaping in to get this done.

often, i see people coming into my place, that simply 'made up their mind' to get a piercing, and when one place wasn't open, they just drove around till they found one - because they didn't want to wait.

as a person who gets pierced, as well as a piercer, quite often, i send these people away for a day or so, because i don't want to be the one who does their 'impulse' piercing.
if they come back, then we discuss it.

i personally, would only go to a piercer i felt really comfortable with - and i always check out their studio, as well as talking to other clients that have been through there.

but then, as an insider, i KNOW what can go wrong, as well as the benefits.

My tattoo/piercing artist was just arrested for first degree murder!

I always thought he was a nice guy, I guess you never know.
I'm thinking maybe I'll try to find someone else to do my piercing.

One of my good friends took me to get my ear pierced for my birthday (a cartilage piercing). I've ALWAYS wanted one, thought they looked really cool. I even went so far as to get those fake ones but found that they hurt after an hour or so. I was a little bit apprehensive getting one knowing that it takes a long time to heal. I wasn't really worried about the pain as I have a high threshold for pain.

So I got it in April and it's healing JUST fine. It's still not completely healed, but it's healed enough that it doesn't hurt when I accidentally brush against it. YAY! Oh ... and it kicks ass ... I absolutely LOVE the way it looks!

Two weeks ago, I bought a niobium CBR with a titanium bead. The ring was a shiny black and the bead was ice blue. It looked SO good! But once I put it in, my ear got infected. I guess I can only use real gold in that piercing.

Hey WQ - do you think it's because my piercing isn't fully healed that's why that happened? My piercer was the one that put it in, and she is great... extremely clean and careful. She ordered a titanium hex CBR to see if that will work for me and a seamless white gold ring. Do you think I'll have an allergic reaction to titanium?

I wouldn't get a clit piercing as they look too painful for me. LOL!
