Question on detail level of "Ideas"

At the moment, I'm considering putting up an easily multiple-post description for, theoretically, the idea of a world that's been developing in my mind for a long while. The potential problem is that it is by no means

"1) anything like this kind of an idea, with a terseness that doesn't go beyond a few sentences at most".

It would be rather exhaustive, but not in itself technically the stories themselves; or at least, stories in the direct narrative sense; historical backstory would definitely be part of it. A sort of 'skeleton, sinews, muscles and more', but not the 'breath'.

Is this the correct location to place such thread, or do I seek elsewhere?

I'm no vet, but I would say go for it. :) A lot of the fine threads in this forum are not specific enough, it's always nice to stumble across one that lays everything out and gives you a lot to respond to right in the OP.

What kind of response are you looking for by posting this description? If you're looking for a co-writer or a cast of roleplayers, this isn't quite the right subforum. If you are looking for suggestions and critique, this is the right place.

I am in fact inquiring of anyone, but especially authorities (mods/admins/whatever else), whether or not what I posit should be placed in this location, as much of the 'idea/s' WILL, likely, sound like Story in its/their own right; will be, in fact, without such being the direct focus of eventual given stories.

Make any sense?

If you have a world that you don't want others to write in, I would personally go into the roleplaying lounge and post there, with the thread title being something like Private Concept Development for ______.

Either that or a blog/livejournal/etc. Then if you want to show it here, put the link in your signature.

Story Feedback might be a better fit, maybe. It's a fine line... a well developed idea is fine, a draft or partial story, not so much...

I would accept others later roleplaying stories within it, so long as the role of the Gamemaster (or in this case, Worldmaster might be more applicable) was universally understood. Likewise, any observations from others would be acknowledged/encouraged, else why am I even posting a thread on a forum?

In any case, thank you for the clarification (from all involved), and the adjustments will be incorporated, with a link across the resulting thread later edited into this one, if such is acceptable.

One final question.

"The Lounge" is located within the SRP boards, but the realm to be described here won't likely focus on such subjects for quite awhile. Would such a thread still be viable, or would ORP be preferable, even though it is not, as already stated, necessarily character-interactive for the near future?

Thank you anyone's patience in assisting me in seeking to 'cross every T'.

Here is fine.

Grand ideas are great.

Very well.

EDIT: Annnnnnnnnnnd...that is precisely what I didn't want to happen. Especially as it is merely a story idea...namely little but a scenery snapshot...and not even yet remotely possessing the meat of a viable story in itself.

This is doubtless going to go smashingly well in the future.
