(Yui bows) Please, excuse me. I apologize for interrupting and I promise to be quick. My question pertains to submissions: I understand that the submission timeframe for a story on lit falls somewhere between 3 and 7 days , but what is the longest period of time individuals on this board have waited for a story to post? Has anyone waited 7+ days?

Thank very much!

2 weeks. But that was illustrated poetry. Don't know what that amunts to.

The short answer is, yes. There are definitely people here who have waited more than 7 days. Unfortunately, I don't have a long answer for you.

So I'll just offer my welcome! :)

:( For illustrated or audible stories, the wait is longer. Otherwise, three to seven days is about right. Poems post much faster, I have found.

Welcome, Yui, and there is certainly no need for you to apologize for interrupting anybody. That's the purpose of these threads, interrupting people and getting info and expressing opinions.

It's been 5 days since I re-submitted.......this is agonizing.:(

I know the feeling well dear... very well.

Lo Yui they've all just about said it... in the absence of MG: It depends on how busy the site is combined with the wind direction and whether or not the sheep are being rounded up.

Hi Liar,

Thank you for answering! Two weeks? Wow. Okay, with medicinal liquor and meditation, I can wait two weeks. Not a problem. Breathe deep. Oommm, oh, god…

By the way, I checked out some of your poetry. Excellent. Thank you for rocking my little corner of the cosmos.

Yui, if you ever click on the word "pending" that is beside the name and category of your story... it sends your story to the end of the line (basically acts as if you have submitted the story all over again.)

Not saying that you have done that, but if you have it could be the cause of a delay.

Having said that, I have noticed that it is taking longer for submissions to be approved since the ending of the Earth Day Contest.

Hi minsue,

Thank you for the welcome! The reason I'm asking "how long" is that I am on day nine of "pending". Previously, it has not taken this long for stuff to post and while I'm not actually freaking out, I am checking my submissions page and inordinate number of times per day (more than twice but less than a thousand times).

This is like a flashback to high school and I'm waiting for the cute guy from study hall to call me. ;)

Thank you!

I usually tend to wait 4 months, but maybe it is me submitting works to other places where it takes that long and not coming here often enough.

*shrugs*

Hi Abstruse, Boxlicker101 and Pop_54,

Abstruse: I can commiserate on the waiting - drives me nuts, too. Nine days, I've been waiting, and I am soon to be rocking in a corner.

Boxlicker101: Thanks for the posting info on poetry vs. stories and for allowing me to barge in. I'm sure this won't be the last time it happens. ;)

Pop_54: Sheep, hunh? Oh. And wind? Okay, there's the problem. :) Good to know. Thanks! (While systematically clicking "refresh", Yui tries to decide if "sheep" is analogous to the group-follow-the-leader mentality of the masses or what…and would that be an analogy…)

Many thanks!

No Yui, Sheep are predominantly white fluffy things that live in fields:D They can be really friendly, especially if one wears wellies to prevent escape:devil:

Pops, you promised you wouldn't mention her. P. :(

Perhaps the delays in submission posting is due to the remodeling. If so that's okay, I like the new look. Plus I'm sure that they are quite inundated with submissions at this time.

Three weeks.

My second story doesn't even show up on the submissions page.

The artwork? only two and a half weeks.

Back to Kazaa. At least people saw the work.

Awww. Not up yet?

The second story's supposed to show on the submissions page.

Feel like getting into PM and telling me what exactly you're doing?

 This might be typical. After returning from a month-long trip where I could write but not submit any stories, I returned. On Sunday, May 16, I submitted three stories and four poems. The poems posted the next day and the stories posted in the last few hours, taking six days. :rose:

update

The stories posted, sometime. I was deliberately not looking and then there they were, because somebody mentioned they'd read one. Consequently, I don't really know how long it was, but it was over three weeks. The second one, the one that didn't show as a submission, posted the same day, seemingly.

I'd already given up on that, figuring to edit it a little more and try it again. I sent it to an editor. It posted before I got it back from the editor, so I was a little floored about that.

The artwork I put in just left no trace. That's been almost three weeks now.

No trace of that in "Submissions" either, but as I now know, that don't mean they didn't get them.

I think things are a little ragged.

But I like it here.
