Question for the mothers of AH

With my first, mine broke before I had discernable contractions. I got up off the couch, and thought I had wet my pants.

Both of the other deliveries were C-Section.

How are you feeling, hon?

Other than my sinuses I'm feeling pretty good. I have gotten used to how to lay with the rib issue but at the same time not always getting comfortable. Rib is getting a bit better, I've been keeping my brace on just like the nurse said. Also been putting icy hot patches on it which has helped. Just wishing I could get more sleep, though I know that's impossible even taking the tylenol PM just like midwife said to, lol.

Getting a bit anxious though. But tonight when I had laid down for a nap I actually felt the shape of baby's foot. :D

Aw.... it's those little moments that make it real, and so precious. It's perfectly normal for you to be a little anxious now, as the time draws nearer. Others have said, and it's true, these last weeks when you are sleeping erratically are just preparing you for waking with the baby. Trying to train you to catch your sleep when you can.

Ask your midwife about taking small doses of melatonin to help you sleep. I took it with my last pregnancy (1mg only) and it did help. So far, there is no evidence of adverse effects on the baby, but you would want to double check with your midwife.

Sweet dreams, hon. Keeping you in my thoughts.

I'll have to ask her about that, I have an appointment on wednesday since I'm down to once weekly. I just need to remember so I should probably write it down...lol

Don't wory, nothing is going on or happening but I have a question...

At what point in labor did your water break?

Hiya MrsDL
Glad all is goood apart from the sleeping patterns :)
With my first, my water broke about an hour before I had her.
With my son it was 2mins after I got to the hospital and 15minutes later he was here...(That was a very close call:eek:)
With my last I was at the hospital for a while but the midwife just sat in the corner writing her notes:confused:. Didn't even examine me. I been there about an hour and felt like pushing the whole time! I am still not sure if she figured this was my third labour so I should know what I was doing, If she thought it would be a long time yet or if she just generally didn't care....
So in the end I said bugger this and gave an experimental little push and there went my water. 5mins later she was here. Seems the more i have the faster I go... lol:rolleyes:

21 days to go wowsers. Time sure does fly.
Big hugs:rose::kiss::heart:

Wow, once you go you really go, lol.

*hugs back* :rose::heart::kiss:

Starting to get anxious, then again I start my maternity leave next wednesday. Boss wasn't so happy about short notice as I told him saturday...But the midwives expected me to be able to work right up until but with the sinuses and severe lack of sleep one of them decided she wanted me to go at 38 weeks but I decided to be nice and give work a couple extra days...

Well glad your doing what is best for you.
You and baby come first
Depending on where you work over here, you get to leave work six weeks early.
As for the anxiety. I had it with all three. More so with the last than anything lol.
Stay positive :), you have loads of support which is great.
You get to hold your baby soon. How exciting is that??????

I know this may sound strange, please don't take it the wrong way but...I look forward to seeing my hubby hold the baby for the first time and changing the baby's diaper and that kind of thing more than I look forward to doing it myself. Not that I don't care but because I am breast feeding I'll have more bonding time and I am looking forward to any bonding time that hubby gets.

I am so greatful for the support that everyone has given me, thank you guys so much. *hugs*:kiss::rose: for all the mothers of the AH.

i just wanted to poke my head in really quick and say:

my water never broke. they had to break it and i will not go into the story of that because you dont need to hear the 'ick' of it all.

secondly, i never was able to truly nurse either one of my children. i went to specialist after specialist to see what the problem was and no one could come up with a clear cut solution.
the first baby nursed for a month and that was with supplements. the second was on my breast constantly but i had to stop because she was "failure to thrive" even with supplements.

i felt horrid and the one thing i really wanted to do was nurse. i couldn't.
both girls are lovely and healthy even though I couldn't nurse like i wanted.

not every woman can produce and its nothing to be ashamed of. but it looks like you have mega tons of support and that, my friend, is a truly wonderful thing.
im crossing fingers for you and sending the bestest mommy vibes ever.

Mine broke right before dinner the night I went to the hospital.I was 3 weeks early and I hadn't had any real contractions that I could tell. Then again I was on crutches and a belly sling by that point in the week. And don't worry that isnt normal. They said I released to much muscle relaxing hormone and little diva was a live wire that loved to jump up and down a lot so she was affectively dislodging my hips. I had my dinner before i went to the hospital ( I asked if that was okay as i was starving and I knew they were serving dinner right then and I wouldn't make it in time for food.) I was there by 7 something saturday night and finally at 1243am on monday morning they took her out by C-section. Then again I'm the crazy woman who had 8 minute contractions! (the teaching people at that hospital loved me:rolleyes:)

Same here, on the morning of my last regularly scheduled dr.'s appointment, I was dialated and having contractions, so they promptly hooked me up to and IV and broke my water. It's not too ick, they just pierce it with, uh, like, a swizzle stick? ;)
