Lol, you don't have to show off the goods in public to be considered an exhibitionist.
An exhibitionist is one who likes to put on a show for other people to watch. According to the dictionary, it is a person who has a compulsion to attract attention to oneself. And, yes, that can include flashing Times Square, but it doesn't have to.
Whenever I get into an exhibitiony mood, I feel empowered by the attention I get, and that is what turns me on.
And how does anyone become an exhibitionist?... "I'll show you mine if you show me yours" lol

I'm an exhibitionist. I like showing my body. I like being naked. I like being seen. Nudity, public nudity, and exposure are incredibly sexy to me. Most of my stories on here all involve nudity.
Let me start with saying I think it is sexy because it requires confidence. A person has to strut, has to be proud of themselves to show off. The girl (or guy) who gets naked for the delivery man? She (he) is stripping down all her defenses and showing herself for who she is, no excuses to anyone. That's what gets me.
To answer your question: I got into exhibitionism from just being naked. I was young, 6th grade, maybe 7th, and really horny all the time. I was a weird little kid back then. For some reason, being naked was the biggest thing I enjoyed. I lived in a quiet suburb and I would sneak at at 2:00 am in the summer and dare myself to walk around naked. I even invented a ladder by connecting milk crates to a rope. I could stack the milk crates and climb into my 2nd story window. I would pull them up into my room with the rope. I would then take 30 minutes daring myself to take off my shorts. Then, I'd run around the neighborhood, sneak through backyards and see how far I could get from where I'd hide my shorts. It was sexy, thrilling, and dangerous.
The first time I was ever caught was by daring myself to stand on the porch of a house a few blocks away. I must have made noise because the porchlight came on at 3:00 am and I saw a face of an older woman looking at me. I took off. Her seeing me turned me on so much, I jerked off 10 times over the next 24 hours. That's a record still today.
Now, I like to be naked but I am not overtly sexual. I live in a tropical climate and I like going to nude beaches. I don't get hard and walk around showing off but I don't hide either. I'm not a flasher, but I like to go naked in saunas, public showers, etc.

I have always been very comfortable naked in front of people but it is hard for me to pin point when I actually became an exhibitionist. I think when I started discovering and exploring my sexuality I realized that it was more than just being comfortable naked that it was arousing as well. If I am naked in a place where it is allowed for example a nude beach then it just feels very freeing. If I am naked in a place where it isn't allowed then it is a very thrilling arousing sensation. I have exposed myself on a beach..never exposed myself in front of strangers though in a place where nudity is prohibited. I used to take my dog out to pee in my underwear and bra sometimes though late at night but I don't think anyone ever saw me.
