ok im not sure if this is where it should be posted but here it goes.


about 8 years ago i started dating a girl. for 3 years we stayed together and had many ups and downs. she was my life and im pretty sure my one true love. well we had broke up and lost contact for the most part as she started dating someone new. i finally moved on with my life and did what i had to do to get over her. i still thought about her daily at first then atleast once a week, then it was a few times a month. i have always had her in the back of my mind thru a few different relationships. i have wondered many nights how she was doing and even wondered what if.

now fast forward to about 4 days ago. i was on a site and stumbled on your profile on there. made contact with her and we have talked. she told me she has thought about me too and has been trying to find me in this sea we call the internet for months now. we have both changed screen names and even moved a few times each. she has recently become single and i have been single now for awhile. we both have "friends" we trun to and hang out with but nothing carved in stone on either end.


i have to kinda feel like fate is playing a role in our lifes and that something has brought us back together for some reason. im just wondering what you guys and gals think of all this and your feelings on what all i have wrote here. if you do look at this please respond and let me know your thoughts. thank you for taking the time to read this and comment.

i'm not really sure about this but all i can suggest is to take things slow and see what happens.

I would treat her as if she where a new girlfriend, do not make any assumptions as to what you knew was true in the past, do not reminisce on the past, as it will inevitably go back to the point of why you split in the first place.

This is just 1 opinion my friend, take it or leave it, but whatever you do, be happy!!

taking your time

taking it slow is the best thing to do.
the past should be taken in account but remember that was the person you were (it past and keep it as such)
people change revel in it.
if it is ment to be it will happen so don't force feelings.
I should know my husband was an exboyfriend from highschool I met eight years after graduation.

It sounds so very romantic, and it is as you tell it. I like GoldenSilence's take very much. While it will be difficult not to pick up at the last wonderful moment from your past relationship I think it's wise to start anew.

You're both different people now, have additional experiences and have grown in different ways too most likely.
