Question for Authors who have had their work published

Hello:

Thanks to some advice from friendly members of this board, I am looking into having a couple of my works published by Boruma/Carnal Pleasures.

As I understand the situation, profits will be placed into a Paypal account.

Can someone advise me as to the entire tax issue? Do you declare this as income? If so, how?

I'll bet that the publisher will issue a 1099-R (royalties), so the IRS will know about it. Both Amazon and Smashwords issue them. So the royalties will have to be declared on you 1040.
