Those of you who enjoy the pain/pleasure thing, is it something you've always known about yourself or is it something you learnt in time? How did you feel about it?

I'm asking because over the past few months I've discovered a distinct liking for pain during sex, not bad pain, but the kind that comes from spanking, biting, roughness, nipple play etc and I was a little surprised at first. i've always known that i was different, and that liked a little pain mixed in with my pleasure during sex. did i know that i would enjoy being hit with a flogger or any other BDSM 'tool' umm no. i've always liked to be bitten, i've always liked rough sex. i've always liked my nipples bit, pulled, etc...had no clue i'd like clothes pens put on them. so i guess the answer is i've kind of always known i liked pain?? I've known I was a little different in what I wanted since I discovered the difference between boys and girls and what the difference was for.
