Question about story submission

I'm not sure this is the correct place to post this, but I couldn't find anywhere else. I submitted a story a day or two ago, but when I check my profile, it lists 0 stories submitted. Just to clarify, I'm concerned that I did something incorrectly and the submission did not go through. I realize that if it did go through, it wouldn't have been approved yet. It's just that "0" that bugs me. :p Thanks in advance for any advice on the matter!

Have you gotten to your actual submissions page? If your story is pending - and it would be for at least three days before posting, unless it is in a site contest - it will appear on that page.

It is three days except during a contest at which point it is four days unless it is part of the contest. Contest entries are posted two days later. As has been said, when you check your submissions continue on to click on view, that lists every story of yours posted. If you are posting your first it's an easy check there will be a blue pending at the end of the listing for it.

Not of course this is assuming the hamsters are working correctly, they are known to be given vacations. They also engage in orgies to have more hamsters. They do get old and die after all so you always need more hamsters. Now if they seem to be taking their time on posting your story there is one thing you can try.

First, you find a shrubbery. Not to large, not too small either, just right in the middle. Once you find a shrubbery of the correct size, you must then trim it to be sure that all of the plants are in good health and will grow to the proper proportions. Oh this is because you get a young shrubbery, easier to transport of course.

Now with the proper shrubbery found and trimmed, you must improve it. There has to be a nice stream, with one of those little watermills that makes the nice sound. Also you need a bridge, not those big suspension bridges but a small rounded stone bridge. Wood will be acceptable but that will mean the hamsters take a little longer in the posting of your story.

Once you have the stream and bridge you then must make sure there are ribbons. Yes you heard me right ribbons. Hamsters are smart fellows and know a good thing when they see it, they want the little colorful ribbons all over. Use all of the colors but for the love of all that is holy no yellow, they hate yellow it is to them the same as red. You don't want something bright red glaring at you from your shrubbery, they feel the same way about yellow.

So with the ribbon in attendance, along with the stream and bridge, oh and don't forget the watermill now you must work on sending the shrubbery. To send the shrubbery you must open up your computer and shove it in. You have to do this fast because the stream is lots of water and water is bad with a computer. Now if you manage to do it fast, your computer will send the shrubbery to the hamsters and they will get right on posting your story. If you do not do it fast enough your computer will not work. You then must find a new shrubbery and buy a new computer.

Oddly enough most people just wait the 3-4 days.

Oh how I miss MathGirl!

To quote some of her more famous responses to this question:
"Usually three to five days. Up to a week if the editor's bleeding piles are acting up."
"Usually three to five days. May take up to a week if the story contains sex with sheep or renting of pigs."
" Usually three to five days. Sometimes as long as a week if the editor is out chasing cats again."
"Usually three to five days. Sometimes up to a week if the editor has committed ritual sepuku."

And to show she won't mind:
" I would be SO pleased if someone liked my stuff enough to steal it."

To repeat what was said in the OP: I am not asking when my story will be posted. I checked the submissions page, and my submissions number is "0." There is no submission listed as pending. I understand it takes three to four days once submitted. I'm trying to find out if I need to re-submit since I see no submission listed as pending. Once again, just to be entirely clear, I understand it takes three to four (or longer, depending on what's going on) days for a properly-submitted submission to be approved. Just in case anybody felt the need to clarify that again. ;-)

In the clutter of humor, I think one important point was made: Don't look in your profile. Look in your user control panel, where you can get the real deal on what's been submitted and what its status is.

To get there, log in and click on your user name at the top -- "You are logged in as XXXXX"

Your control panel comes up, and there's a clickable link for "submissions," where you can see what's going on.

Can you see your story on this page?

http://www.literotica.com/stories/members/submissions_view.php

If you're logged in to your Lit account, you should see a list of stories (in your case one story) and whether they're pending or approved.

If you can't see anything on this page, then the chances are you didn't actually submit your story correctly and you'll need to have another go.

Hope this helps

mentalone, the advice is right but you seem to have done the right thing.

On the main story page, login then click on your username.

- on control panel, click submissions which tells you how many stories have been received.

-to check further, click recent activity and current submissions. If your story is not there then you have not submitted correctly. So try again.
