 I have a question about the submission dates and voting. If a story was submitted on May 7 and they count the scores on the 15th for the previous month then it would be counted on June 15th, right?
I didn't think of this at the time, but I did save the page when it happened and sure enough, checking it just now it was the 13th of June someone slammed my 10 vote 4.91 story down to a 4.55. That's bullshit. I thought you had to be over 18 to visit this site, seems like a five year old slipped in. Do people do this a lot? Just wondering...

Yes, it happens a lot. Laurel usually does a troll sweep before calculating the monthly winners though.

I know someone who is getting trolled EVERY day right now with nasty public comments and score bombs.

You can use the "report this story" link at the end of your story to report suspected troll voting and the site owners will check into it.

I finally turned off the voting because it happened to 2 poems also. Something is going on with the # of readers too, a Christmas story jumped almost 18,000 reads in one day last week, a poem went up 2000 also. Then a poem disappeared into thin air. I told Laurel and reported the stories. In Live journal you can choose to record the IP of anyone leaving a comment. If your ip was bound to you when you vote or leave comments then a lot of this might stop.

Views aren't updated as often as votes, but that still seems like a big jump at once.

I know that while the Free Speech contest was running, there was some problem with views registering at all, so that may have been the deal with that. I know that for close to a week, I had 30-some votes on my essay, but no views.

We have resolved the issue with the views not updating properly for the last few days. It was a mystery at first, but we figured out that it had to do with the fact that Literotica has now passed the 200,000 submissions mark! Contratulations to everyone for that milestone! That number does include non-approved items, removed stories, and various other stuff, so we are a ways away from actually having 200,000 active submissions on the site, but getting closer!

Especially in the summmer for a christmas story and not one vote in 18,000 reads. Something is odd.
