Maybe this is more fit for the How To forum, but there's more viewers here at this hour, and I need a quick answer.

So... I just bought this new (HUGE) butt plug, and I'm super anxious to use it!!

But... it is made out of SensaFirm material, which I am somewhat unfamiliar with.

I do know it has a silicone-derivative CORE, with a rubber OUTER LAYER (or something like that). I also know that silicone lubes with silicone toys are a big no-no.

Problem is, I can't find any real definitive answer as to whether or not this material is safe to use with silicone lubricant. I've searched EVERYWHERE, and cannot find any statement from manufacturers of toys made of this material or even the manufacturers of the material itself, and it's interaction with silicone lube.

Somebody help!!! I'm dying to get this thing in my butt ASAP, but I don't want to ruin it!

I know, I know... some would say "just use water-based lube to be on the safe side". Well, quite frankly, I don't want to use water-based. I want to use silicone! And using a condom on it is not the answer I'm looking for either, by-the-way.

So if anyone knows the answer to the question - ARE SENSAFIRM TOYS COMPATIBLE WITH SILICONE LUBE? - I would greatly appreciate some insight!

try looking up the website of whoever made the toy

Tried that... the only thing the manufacturer says about it is "For maximum pleasure, use lubricant with this product."

The toy is the Inmate XL by ChiChi La Rue's Rascal toys and Topco Sales. And for no real reason I'll go ahead and let you know it is "an 8.25" x 2.25" anal plug with square base"

I prefer to put condoms on my toys. Then I can use almost any lube that is safe for condoms and avoid any chemicals that might leech out of the toy. Many sex toys have ingredients that are toxic. SInce there is no regulation covering them the manufacturers do little to avoid them. Condoms solve this problem unless you are latex sensitive.

Well, why not just use water based lube? It's safe with any toy.

I guess I should have clarified why I was so against water based lubes for this, so here's a list of reasons I'd rather stay away from them based on experience:

1.) It's pretty darn big, and quite frankly it's a daunting task to get it in so once this thing is in... IT'S IN! (unlike if I were using a dildo) - plus even medium plugs get uncomfortable as hell once the lube dries out. Silicone doesn't dry out quickly.

2.) Like I said, I have to use a TON of lube so I blow through an entire bottle of Astroglide Gel with my larger toys just in one or two uses (I love the stuff for lighter use though!). Not cost effective.

3.) I get super-bloated with all the water being absorbed, and the day after is not pleasant when my body decides to get rid of the water (sorry). Gross. Silicone doesn't get absorbed and doesn't cause an icky day-after.

I have gone ahead and started using a condom on it as per blklthrjkt's good input (thank you) - even though I didn't want to at first; and that's because I've read a lot of hype about how SensaFirm's texture is VERY slippery, pleasurable, and just a different experience than other products, and kinda want to experience that...nonetheless, it is a great toy even with the condom.

More than anything now, I just want to know more about the material for my own piece of mind so if anyone out there can enlighten us, feel free!!
