Hey all,

I was thinking about buying a cock ring just for fun and had a few questions...

Do they work with condoms? and What does it exactly feel liek... don't want something that will make my dick go numb.

Any suggestions would be appreciated as well.

My bf and I use a leather one that has a snap and a loop to tighten it. That way we can adjust the tightness but also use the snap to remove it quickly.
You may like leather or rubber. If you are concerned about the tightness I definitely wouldn't order a metal one to begin with.
We don't use condoms so I can't help with that one.
You should try extremerestraints.com or blowfish.com
Blowfish also has pretty good buying guides. http://www.blowfish.com/catalog/guides/cockrings.html

Yes, most cockrings can be used with condoms. I think the general rule is not to wear one for more than 20 minutes at a time. your cock won't go numb but wearing one too long or too tight can cause blood vessel damage.

we have several rings for hubby ,but they turn out to really be for me,he gets hard and stays so hard so long its almost scary.we limit ourselves to about 1/2 hour each time as his cock starts to lose its pretty pink colour after that.yes he can wear it with condoms but we only use them to rip them in playing.

i was thinking about getting one with a vibrator on it... Has anyone had any experiences with this kind?

I have a few.

I have a single metal and and a hells gate one with 5 rings all metal ones. I've heard the rubber and leather ones are so so the leather ones will stretch and if you use and lotions it will start to wear out same with the rubber ones. There really is no fear with the metal ones you really can't get one that is to small and if you do start to feel its getting to tight put on some lotion or if you have some on already there easy to pull off.

They really only slow or make cumming a little more intence it's more of a rush when you do cum. Help with Blow jobs more too when wife of girlfriend can feel the metal ring on the tip of there lips. I dont have any of the vib ones someone else will have to explain those?

My xgf begged for me to get one and try it, to say the least I found it extrmely uncomfortable after a short period of time. That's been my only experience, purhaps I got the wrong kind, but never want to try one again.

Did you use a good lube?

Most condoms have a cockring included

Here's what people don't tell you about cockrings - they don't go well with pubic hair. Shave/trim is my advice or you may be yanking out a few short-n-tinies. Of course, if you're into that - then by all means: Indulge.

Whether or not a cockring will cause damage depends on how tight it is. How tight should it be? Tight enough to stay in place, but not tight enough so that you are really aware you are wearing it. The amount the girth of your cock increases is an important issue in this. I've found that mine grows about 1/4 inch - so one that is just tight enough to stay on when limp will work just find when erect.

I don't like the rubber ones. They tend to cut off circulation - which is actually NOT the desired effect. Plus they grab pubic hair like a mother-fucker. Additionally, most rubber cockrings are actually drive belts for vacuum cleaners. That doesn't mean there's anything wrong with them, but drive belts are something like three for five bucks. Save money and go to Walmart and look around. The benefit of a rubber ring is that it can be cut off in an emergency. I'm not really sure what kind of emergency would require that other than the thing being too small... As with anything made of rubber, don't use petroleum based lubricants (caused the rubber to break down at a molecular level).

I don't like leather ones because the snaps/buckles, for some reason, always seem to manage to press rather painfully into my sac. If that isn't an issue for you, go for it, brother. Leather has the disadvantage of being a good host for micro-organisms. If you clean it well and take care of it, it isn't a problem. Saddle-soaping a cockring seems like a bit too much upkeep to me, though.

Metal rings are usually not recommended because people have a tendency to misjudge the size of their cock - and get rings that are snug when limp but cause numbness when erect. Here's a cheap trick - go to Home Depot to the aisle where they keep the rope and chain. Look through the fasteners and find a welded metal ring - they come in quarter-inch denominations beginning at one-inch and cost about a buck each. Get several different sizes to experiment with.

Get hard and get a bit of lubricant. You want one that moves down your shaft without too much effort. If you want an extra thrill, once you've found one that fits around the base comfortably and stays in place, try one a quarter-inch smaller just under the glans. You basically have a two-ring gates-of-hell without the straps at that point.

Most condoms, actually, have a small cockring built into the base. That's actually a good guide to use. If it fits tighter than a condom, it may be too tight.

Metal, rubber, or leather can be used with a condom, though. If it seems like you'll break the condom by stretching it over the ring, then put the ring over the condom. If the cockring has any fasteners, though, make sure that they don't catch and tear the condom - or it loses all functionality.

Hmm, I didn't use lube with the one I had. It was way too tight though, i get a similar sensation with condoms that fit me alright but the ring on the bottom causes horrible soarness during sex.

Your right though, I should have probably found one that was hardly tight -- but really I didn't choose it, the x did. I may try it again in the future. Thanks for the info !
