Question about ratings

Hey y'all

A couple of months ago, I noticed every single one of my stories took a sudden nose dive in ratings. I had at least three with a 4.5 or greater rating, but now those same stories are in the 3.9 range. I'm not here for ratings and accolades, although it's nice to know my work is somewhat appreciated. I'm just curious as to how this could happen seemingly overnight. I mean, I think I have an inkling of how, but I don't want to come out and be accusatory when that might not be the case at all.

Any thoughts?

If you have an inkling, I'd say you know why already. Don't make it worse, is all I'd suggest.

The site runs periodic sweeps on the ratings and erases votes it considers illegitimate (on a formula it doesn't share with users).

I'm not really looking to make anything worse. It was sheer, perhaps morbid, curiosity. That is all.

You can request a check of your score, and the rogue one-bombs should be removed. The score will then revert back to the 'norm'.
