So we all know that if you write a hotwife/lovingwife story, that the reader will explode in his pants then blast your story. But I'm curious for those of you that write Menage:

do your fictional lovers wear condoms?
do they cum on the inside or pull out?

After stud #1 cums in the wife, what does she do after he's finished? Does she take a shower, or more?

Depends on the character/story. Responsibility about hygiene and safe sex might help but won't save a LW story. They might not even be needed, if irresponsibility (or a free-spirited lack of realism) is consistent with the story as a whole. Overall, I think my LW series has been more realistic about this than my Group Sex story was, but characters and the narrative in both thought about the issue here and there.

I don't care to read about condom's usually. I will sometimes reference them in my stories, but the woman is on the pill so they aren't required. I don't like the bit of reality condom's imply, just give me the fantasy.

There are no diseases or unwanted pregnancies in my world.

Question about MFM menage

I do include condoms in stories where warranted. I upset a lot of readers when one broke during the protagonist’s first anal sex. If I’m writing realistically, then it’s a must between strangers hooking up, from a disease POV, even if the woman is on the pill.

In my gang bang stories, it’s always bareback, and I make reference to test results being shared in advance (contrary to porn, gang bangs are not spontaneous events). Anyone who worries about sloppy seconds in such a scenario is probably in the wrong story.

UPDATE: In my WIP Winter Holidays story, the FMC is pissed about using condoms for hook ups as she finds them uncomfortable for anal.

I tend to mention condoms in passing. I've never written anyone having sex and pulling out.

Does anyone actually do that, since sex ed became a thing and people know it's crap as a method of contraception?

I assume so, for several reasons. Use these in stories as you see fit.
  1. The kind of person willing to have unprotected sex is also the kind of person who doesn't understand how odds work or thinks they can beat them just because they're good/lucky.
  2. It's crap as a method of contraception compared to condoms and better things. It's still better than literally nothing at all.
  3. Some people might pull out not just as a contraceptive method but because they want to see the cum on some other body part.

Well, when used properly it is 96% effective, combine that with not having to go through any gate keepers to get it. And yeah people still use it.

You may well be right, but what percentage are you comparing to for insemination, which obviously doesn’t always lead to pregnancy, even if the timing is right?
Not sure what exactly you're asking. 🤔

But, when used improperly it's 78% effective, but when you factor in that you only have a 25% chance to get pregnant every cycle, that's not saying much...

Better alternative might be anal, but even that can lead to pregnancy if dribbles happen.

Heck, even condoms and the pill don't always get used properly.

you mean you don't hold the Pill between your knees?

Yeah, that’s kinda what I meant. A creampie on a random day is at least 75% effective at not getting you pregnant.

4. They saw it in porn.

This.

Leaving aside the outliers for whom things like pregnancy are kink, we here write Fiction, one purpose of which is to avoid reality’s dismal details. Somebody here once said that, if he wanted to watch overweight grey-hairs have sex, he’d shift the mirror.

Unless it somehow is part of the plot, the men here don’t have hair-trigger issues or the droops, the always-in-the-mood women never cramp and neither worry about pregnancy or social diseases.

The story and characters dictate the need or lack thereof, of birth control.
For mature women with children, a tubal ligation isn't a stretch so I go with that. Married women but still young enough I often use an IUD and these things are just mentioned in passing. Condoms aren't sexy and I rarely mention them. I'm working on a story set in the 1870's and this story makes birth control important. But the 'cum on my tits' method was the best they had back then so...

Just to be contrarian:

Written that (even wrote an ogre with hair trigger issues).
or the droops,
Yeah - more than once
the always-in-the-mood women
One in particular was so not in the mood, but sublimated herself
never cramp
Yup - and one had her period start mid-sex
and neither worry about pregnancy or social diseases.
Had a threesome all arrange clinic visits after a burst condom.

I’m such a gritty writer 🤣

I can think of at least four stories I have where condoms are a notable plot point. Plus one where a character did get pregnant because of no protection.

My main series didn't worry about condoms, but they did have a few fails trying esoteric positions.

I believe in placing fantasies in the real world, as much as possible. My most unbelievable part of my stories is the weather. It is always gorgeous, unless the plot wants something else. My original series is set in suburban Boston. The only time it rained in three months of the series was a sudden heavy downpour when they all got soaked walking back from a restaurant while intoxicated.

Not really. Birth control and condoms have been around for a very long time. In ancient Egypt, crocodile dung was used. Back in the day condoms were made from sheep intestines. (Think about that the next time you eat a sausage) There are references that show Henry the Eighth used them.

They are not good at preventing disease, like their latex cousins, but they work to keep those little wigglers from making their way to the prize. How do I know that? I used them in the 70s and early 80s. They were sold then and may be today because they are much more sensitive (for the male) than latex.

As far as birth control of any kind, a written sex fantasy is just that, A FANTASY. I know some readers get all spun up about not mentioning some type of birth control and most times I do. BUUUUT...if part of that written fantasy involves her getting pregnant, then it will happen even if it's by immaculate conception. For those times I don't expressly put it in, my answer to their rants is: birth control is in use, I just neglected to mention it in the story.

I'll concede the point but the story is set in the 'old west' and often condoms were not readily available from what my research has been able to determine.

I think that if you try to be too realistic, you will lose readers.

All anal sex I read never dealt with the fact that the person did not get an enema. Without the proper wash, it is nasty out there.

The ATM is also totally fantasy. Unless forced, no one would ever put it in their mouth after an anal penetration without an enema.

So we write fantasy where none of this is an issue. We give the reader the porn they see on their screens and we pretend that it is real. Reality is often ugly and imperfect. Fantasy solves these problems.

I am actually a little tired of the tropes I see too often here e.g. EE breast size, 10 inches dicks, endless erections, women who drip buckets because someone looked at them or called them a bitch, guys who don't cum until their partners does, etc.

I am actually thinking of writing a parody making fun of all these tropes. It will probably get very few readers and even more terrible ratings but it could make me laugh.

I agree. The thing is almost all families back then didn't want birth control, so I don't think they gave it much thought.. They wanted kids, dozens if they could do it. The more children they had, the more free labor they produced. And those who frequented the brothels didn't want to use anything.

Make sure you post it in Loving Wives. :)
