question about how being whipped feels

I'm doing NaNoWriMo again this year, and am currently writing a whipping scene. Specifically, I'd like to hear about what happens when a whip actually breaks the skin. Can you feel it when it happens? Do you know that it's actually broken skin, or is that found out after? If there's blood, can you feel that? This is all assuming you can't see the whip marks being made.

While I'm sure you could get much MORE quantity of information by asking, I do recommend going ahead and taking one or two lashes just for the experience. I only say this because, like everything in life, words sometimes fail to describe with precise accuracy and you may find that even hitting yourself lightly could give you a more intuitive understanding than merely other people's words. As a writer, that may be more helpful to you in writing a believable event.

To actually give you input, I accidently popped myself (luckily, lightly) with a bullwhip once. I would describe it as akin to a sting or some other sharp piercing pain, but it's a much stronger sensation than just a little mosquito. I didn't have broken skin, so I can't give you any information along those lines. That's not a lot of information for you, I apologize I'm bored and thus talking on the internet

Oh believe me, if I had the proper equipment and/or someone to do it, I'd be testing it out myself. I don't have any way of doing that, though, short of approximating by using a cord or something. That's why I ask.

A cord will do it.

basically, a singletail hurts like fuck, a second or two after you've been hit, and it keeps on itching for a while after that. Unless your top keeps hitting you, the pain fades-- if you are getting a serious whipping though, it hurts more and more and more, untill it's an exponential torture. (no I have not experienced that!)

You wouldn't feel blood start -- maybe if it actually trickles more than a couple of inches and you might notice the light tickle. That's because our nerve endings don't seperate sensations as much as all that. If you hold two needles an inch apart and you poke yourself without looking at them, you will pretty much only feel one pain.

But as I'm sure you know, what's going on in the character's head is where the smex is. if it's something the person wanted and was happy to endure for whatever reason-- they will be flying on endorphins pretty soon.

The only time I had skin break, I did not know it at the time. It didn't bleed - it was more like I had skinned my knee. Imagine that feeling... except with adrenaline, endorphines rushing and you aren't really aware of the pain. Plus, the connection between the whip hitting you and your cunt is amazing.

Soooo - when you're done, and the adrenaline subsides and the cunty feeling washes away, you're left with this hot, throbbing - like you've stubbed your toe and your foot that feel asleep is waking back up - that stinging, burning, don't touch it but it's all you can think of feeling - plus you can't wear clothes because it's oozing blood.

The others described it well. It's an acute searing hot pain followed by a throbbing ache, oddly underscored by the mirrored throbbing of your pussy. The adrenaline in those moments makes you willing to push through the pain and seek the pleasure, but the next day you feel like you were chewed up and spit out.

The delayed effect is really kind of neat, people who haven't thrust their ass out for a quick pop aren't going to really get that part of it...I think what sends people into "space" is a degree of confusion of expectation and just plain confusion in processing the sensation. I think it's more like being stung by multiple bees, it almost feels like a chemical burning, you don't really get a lot of impact.

This is why I get a charge out of bottoming to caning, and singletails have that potential, I'm just far too much the control freak to let almost anyone hit me with one. People who are great at it tend to be dick-swinging about the whole deal and that's a dealbreaker for me, I know it's kink candy for other people.

It can be "searing hot" but if someone's being kind to you, I wouldn't go so far as "searing" - if you're dealing with singletails as anything at all beyond a punishment implement, they're extremely subtle in their non-subtlety.
