I did a search to check on my stories and where they might be, this is a page that was brought up. It list my name with submissions that are made under the same user name as I have, they are a pay site and I can't get in to see if they are indeed mine. How does one find out if they have been ripped off if the site is a pay site and you can't actually see the story? Or am I reading the search wrong?

google search

Any help is appreciated

I've seen Oggbashan and boxlicker saying they found such results. PM one of those fellows and see what they have to suggest.

I found my Fire Pole on a "mature" site. They lifted it whole.

turns out my names not to original. sweetnpetite gets a whole punch of porn junk, none of it's me. As for my stories, i've searched the titles of some of my high scorers but I've only found them on lit. Should I be insulted that no one wants to steal my stuff? Or relieved?

I always just like to have readers. I wish they'd link to here, so that people would be able to see the rest of them.

What the heck? I ain't gettin rich publishing here, so the advantage is exposure.

I get hundreds of hits because I put my name and copyright details at the head of each story - and oggbashan is a unique name.

I tried following some up but my system was infected with premium diallers and pop-ups despite my protection software.

I had to reformat one hard disk.

On most of the sites the paying public will be disappointed because my stories are nothing like for example the 'hard teenage anal porn' promised.

I have no objections to links to my stories on Lit, nor to allowing my stories to be posted on free sites if the site owner asks nicely. Unfortunately that covers about 0.5% of the hits found by the search engines and some site owners are now making the contents of their sites impervious to searching.

Thanks everyone for the help. I guess I'll just contact the site owner and see if they can figure out if they are indeed mine.

Thanks again

Instead of just googling on your author name, include a name or location from your story along with your name and see how many hits you get.

I did a google search for some of my stories by title.

I found a dozen sites where someone calling themselves "Madam Butterfly" had lifted all of my stories and several dozen stories by other Lit authors whole from here at Lit and submitted them to these other sites under his/her name.
I promptly e-mailed the webmasters/admin of these sites and asked that my stories be removed from their sites immediately.
