Do Manu and Laurel read them all?

No, chapters 2&3 are one submission. They were shorter chapters, so I combined them. I'm actually waiting for them to get published, because chapter 4 is done, and I'm just about done with Chapter 5 as well. But I'm not submitting them until Ch 2-3 is live.... It's very frustrating... I've never had a delay like this before....
Don't overthink it. In six months, when (one assumes) the whole story is published, the lag between chapters is irrelevant, because the whole thing is out there.

Folk fret far too much about the initial release, I reckon.

Anyway, good stories are like fine wine or whiskey, they need time.

Writing it your way, you can make a rod for your own back. If you publish as you go along, there comes a time when you can no longer keep up, and your end up on a treadmill, trying to keep the release pace going.

Yea, I get that... It's just frustrating. I also depend on the feedback (even if it's just the rating) to know if the story is on the right track or not. So going too far past what is posted makes me worry. For the most part, I have faith that my story is good, and I am writing it the way I want to write it. But one of the reasons I post it here is for feedback. To see if it is as good as I think it is. My wife critiques my work and gives me feedback...but she loves me...and as much as she tries to avoid it, there is always going to be a bias in her opinion.

Well.....I finally have movement on my story..... It was rejected today :(

Sent back for supposedly using AI. Not sure why, as no AI was used... I use Grammarly to help me catch spelling and grammar errors that I miss, which is mostly my tendency to overuse commas. But that's it.

So, I resubmitted with a note attached explaining that... and just in case that's not enough, I have put a few feelers out for an editor to see if I can get someone else to give it a look and see what I can do...

I just submitted one a short time ago, maybe 2-3 hours. It's approved and set for the 27th. That may be my fastest.
My submission last night was something like an hour forty five, again with a two day wait until publication tomorrow morning. It is amazing to me how well the moderation systems works most of the time.

That we didn't see a slowdown yesterday or today in routine approvals makes me think that the category changes were mostly handled by Manu. Although it may also be why anything that needed human intervention may have slowed down over the last week.
