Hi there. Does anyone have any inside track on current situation with Literotica please? I love the site and I think they do a brilliant job and I am absolutely not criticising.. It is just that at the moment I am trying without any success to make some changes to published stories and hit some technical snags but have been completely unable to successfully contact Manu or Laurel for any help with my issues. If I knew that maintenance had been suspended due to the virus issues then of course I would completely understand that give up trying until things improve.
Just wondered if anyone knew any more please.
Thanks Rachel6

I'm not aware of any new or unusual problems with the site, nor have I heard of problems with updating stories. What have you tried to do? How did you try to contact Laurel?

If you’re trying to make changes to already published stories, let us know what you’re trying to do specifically and we can likely tell you. Laurel is pretty hard to contact - and it’s likely something she’d we can tell you what to do if we know what it is you’re trying.

To update stories prepare your revised text and submit it as if it were a new story, but using exactly the same title as the original plus the word EDIT. Add a Note to the Editor advising what you've done. If you want to change category, do the same, add the note (but remember, Laurel may override your category choice). Remember to save it as a Draft, then Preview, then Submit. Then wait a week or two, because edits take low priority.

On that note, do i have to refill all the tags and language settings and the like as well? Or is the minimum amount of info okay?

Tags? I hardly every put anything in tags.

As for the rest, when I'm submitting an edit I fill everything out exactly as I did the original. That just might be me though.

The tags are really useful for search results. Makes your stories way more visible in search results.

As far as I know, Laurel is busier than a one legged man in an a$$ kicking contest. Expecting an instantaneous reply for anything story related is unrealistic. You could extend "instantaneous" to be defined as up to 10 days (that was the time expectancy before everyone was covid home-bound).

That said, her plate is purportedly fuller in recent days because people are coming out of the woodwork, creatively speaking, because home-bound people have oodles of time to start writing that story they've been thinking about but never had the time to get around to. It's possible that if she feels your questions have been asked and answered ad-nauseam elsewhere, to leave it up to you to find the answers for yourself.

It's probably easier for you to ask your questions here, although you may run the risk of smart-assed, know-it-alls, who like to vent, instead of help.

No, just the text. All the rest is meta-data which stays (unless you're changing category, obviously), along with the comments, votes, and views. It's a database, so you're only changing the content of one field - but you do get a second go at tags if you wanted to change them.
