Okay I am relatively new. Could anyone please tell me how you place pictures into your post. I know how to add them as attachments. What I want to know is how you use the img option. Any help is very very much appreciated.

The IMG option is for posting pics from the internet. You can't post them from your PC with this option. You can however put them up on a web page, and then work with the picture.

Click the (IMG) button below those smileys. It automatically adds on the http://

Enter the link to the picture into the IMG box that pops up. Your best bet is to click on the picture you've found, and Copy and past the addy from the adress bar. Make sure you delete the extra http:// once you do that.

Don't preview your posts.

That's all the help I have.

:)

Thank you very much. Not sure that I will ever do any of that now because I do not know how to put pictures on a website.

i was hoping this had AV help. shit

Avatar help is in any of the many threads with "avatar" in the title. :p

Step one for an avatar is 100 posts.

Since you don't know how to put a picture on a website, lets try it this way. You know how to add a picture as an attachment. First do that. Once you have added that attachment, right click on the link to your picture from the thread. Select copy link (if this doesn't work, just left click on the link and copy the url once the picture opens). Now you want to edit your post so you don't have to enter two posts. Now you can use the img button to add your pic. just right click on the blue text (will say http://) and click on past. That is it.

That won't work, because the link to an attachment isn't an image -- the IMG tag only works with images.

You can reference an attachement in your signature using the HTML IMG SRC= command because it can display the output of a database search script call. However, the vB code available in the body of the post only works with JPG & GIF files and somewhat with BMP files.

Ahh, I stand corrected. Different forums, different systems = different rules. Well then, Yahoo has a free image hosting service :)

Been here a while but still having trouble linking to a previously posted pic. Posting a new one here then gonna try this one more time.

Didn't have a "copy link" option when I right clicked. Trying the latter suggested method.

I think I found my problem. Once in the post-creating window, I was trying to use the "http" button, or trying to manually put those "URL" things around the address. This time I did a copy of the address at the opened source pic and did a straight paste into the body of the new post, no vB codes no nuttin'. I was trying too hard before. Hate it when that happens.

Thanks everybody for the suggestions.
