Putin’s Asymmetric Blind Spot

There are also 150 high-ranking officials who have signed a letter of opposition to the invasion. I think it depends on how vociferous it all becomes.

Just saw a news report saying he may not be well, but that could be propaganda. He might be sick about how many tanks and aircraft he's lost and how many of his paratroopers have been defeated and captured and killed trying to take the main airport.
Putin and Sergey Lavrov are still fighting the Nazis of 1945, talk about dementia, these guys are worse than Biden.

They're military tactics are suspect, their losses are stacking up. They're using t-72s?. Can you imagine if Ukraine had a battalion of well trained tankers with M1A3s and a few F-35s.

Correction M1A2 delta upgrade

Well, they're still fighting a conventional war against Russia -- a country that can put a lot more troops and tanks in the field than Ukraine can.

M1A2s and F35s are combat multipliers and if used in a combined arms tactical scenario against a marginal foe would be shooting fish in a barrel. I know it's still early but it appears Putin's forces are still fighting the Afghanistan war.

They are being arrested. What happens to them next, who knows.
As far as I know, it's almost automatically 28 day arrest, at least if having a sign in hands, unless other charges are filed in addition (with may happen rather arbitrary).

i'm sure stalin had a huge impact on you when you were learning to walk.
Well, he did! I lived through the cold war which Stalin himself laid the foundation for. You have no idea how many times I bumped my head hiding under my school desk during bomb drills.

By Ukrainian assessment ~1,800 Russian soldiers killed or taken prisoners the first day, at least ~1,000 today (until 15:00 Kyiv). At least 80 tanks destroyed, over 400 APC and other vehicles, 10 fixed wing planes, 7 rotary.

Legend or not, but supposedly 6 of the 10 fighter kills claim one MiG 31 pilot.

Today was the first report about Russian soldiers begging and looting for food and gas. It's very early in the campaign for that, seemingly, but there's Russian mother's reports that soldiers living in the field camps since December had less than perfect supplies not to talk about living arrangements.

Even more troubling are allegations that conscripts were forced to sign contracts.

(The Russian army has two classes, the conscripts and the professionals on contract. Conscripts are on one-year service, and should not see real combat. They are held as second class, and subject of "traditional" hazing (actually, kind of prison culture) that had seen deaths with some regularity.)

It won't take long for that news to reverberate through Russian ranks and back home. It's hard to fight a fight ya don't believe in. I remember the thousands of conscripts taken prisoner in 1991 Desert Storm, conscripts starving left in the desert without commo, water or any sort of leadership.

Lt. General Keith Kellogg just said he thinks Putin needs to hire a few more bodyguards in reference to his emerging failure in Ukraine. Imagine this, the Germans in a major reversal of policy are shipping lethal weaponry to Ukraine along with several other European nations. The Ukrainian President just announced the Russians have made zero progress in their attack on Kiev.

Many of these captured Russian soldiers are saying they weren't told they would be killing Ukrainians:

They surrendered! Russia platoon give in as they 'didn't know they were sent to kill'

RUSSIAN soldiers reportedly surrendered to Ukrainian troops and reportedly claimed they had been unaware they would be deployed to "kill Ukrainians."
