Punctuation

I've been lenient about the politics, but it needs to stop. It doesn't matter if it's the punchline of a joke or a screed. We have rules against it, and a forum section specifically for politics, so use it. I'm going to remove any political post from this point forward. The AI images are also popping up far too frequently, and those will begin vanishing soon if it isn't curtailed. My goal is and always has been to let the AH police itself as much as possible, but we're going the wrong direction at the moment.

The Chicago Manual of Style and The Associated Press Style book walk into a bar...

Is there a policy on AI images in Author's Hangout?

Is there a policy on AI images in Author's Hangout?
It's part of the global "no AI content" policy, which applies to Forums as well as story side. The AHMod tolerates AI imagery in small doses, but will crack down on proliferation.

Fowler's Dictionary of Modern English Usage sniffed, and ordered another gin and tonic, to cope in this foreign land of misplaced quotation marks and renamed full stops.
I'm here because of a rejection that I believe to be my naïveté ... I think I am guilty of not following US rules on punctuation positioning around quotations 🙄 Ah well.

You don't need to follow US rules. You do need to mostly follow rules - commas after the lead-in to the quote, different people speaking in separate paragraphs, etc. UK usage is fine - see any of my stories.

Thanks - I will read the rules carefully and resubmit :) Most of the rules I follow anyway, but the comma at the end of the lead-in - hmm, maybe not.
