Publishing delay

I submitted a couple of short poems just over a week ago and they haven't got beyond 'pending' yet. Is anyone else experiencing long delays waiting for work to be published? Thanks.

Yup. I've had poems pending for several days now.

From reading in the poetry forum, poetry is often very slow to be processed, which is odd, because submissions are generally short, and therefore could be processed quickly.

Thanks for your replies. I might be wrong but, at a glance, the poetry doesn't seem as widely read as the stories so perhaps it has lower priority. I'll try and be patient.

Two weeks now. The longest of the three poems is about 160 words.

My original, and only, story was published pretty quickly, about 2 days, but then I edited it and resubmitted and it has been Pending for several days now. hmmmm

Edits are usually lower priority

Expect to wait at least a week, possibly two. Edits have low priority, and unless it's a diabolical error, usually not worth bothering about. By the time the edit is published, the story will probably be off the front page, and any damage done is already done.

I submitted an edited story in the middle of October. It took three weeks to post. Be patient.

Been there, done that... I have seven stories, each of which took no fewer than two days, nor more than three, to publish.

My one poem took a whole week to publish.

So yeah, poetry tends to go on the back burner. It'll get published, but don't expect it to be so quick.
