I wrote a story and would like to submit it to some Lit. editors. However, I'm stumped for a pseudonym. I wanted Quiver, unfortunately a Lit. member already has it. Am I wrong to think a pseudonym should have a personal meaning to the writer?

Thanks everyone, for responding. Just in case you haven't read the thread Give Me A Pen Name, I chose Smut Slut.

No, you're not wrong. A pseudonym should have some meaning for the writer.

What's wrong with posting your story as "vegaskitty," You already have the account set up by registering on the forums, so all youneed to do is go to the submissions page and submit it.

I use one name for non-fiction essays and another for fiction and both have some personal meaning to me -- however, I was either original enough or lucky enough that both names were available.

No one wanted my pseudonames.

My first ideas for pseudonames had been taken but I'm happy with the ones I use.

Perhaps a pseudoname should be meaningless otherwise it can give a wrong impression of the writer.

Welcome!

It took me about 3 tries to get my first pseudonym. The others were done on the first try. I agree with WH, which is usually a safe bet, what is wrong with vegaskitty?

Agree. Think a lot before deciding on what you want to be known as.

Ah, poor Dampy. :rose: We love ya. :)

Thanks Min. That wasn't bitter, just cautious. :)
I got over my nick thing after Colly's remarks about it. Don't we love her.

And a nice *hug* for you. :)

Yes, we do.

I'm glad about the nick. I like it. I love the feather theme of the past few days, too. :)

Thanks all for responding.

Nothings wrong with vegaskitty per se. When queried for a username, I quickly threw it together. Vegas (location) kitty (female) as you can see I'm not overly witty. However, when it runs thru my head it seems rather silly. Well that was kinda witty it did turn out to rhyme. :D

Actually I really like the pen name "DampPanties" it speaks volumes with just two little words. oggbashan is interesting cuz its different (Scottish or Celtic ). The pen name Weird Harold scares me. Sorry, I really don't mean to hurt your feelings. Its just the emotion I get when I read it; the word CAUTION screams thru my head.

When I thought of Quiver it described my sexual emotions perfectly. It's the electrical hum I feel inside when I'm well past horny. Do ya'll think it would would be interesting, worthy or fun to post and new thread called Give me a penname. If it is maybe I could describe myself and let the games begin; so to speak.

Thanks

My name on this site is the same on another site where I seldom go now but went to frequently. It is also part of the name of the continuing character in most of my stories but that didn't come about until after I had written several stories. I think it is a descriptive name and it describes my favorite sexual thing.

Hi Vegaskitty!

I say, go for it. I'm sure you'll get a lot of responses, and it could be a lot of fun. We all like to have a bit of fun around here. ;)

I'll get my thinking cap on. :D

Lou :rose:

P.S. I was lucky with my nickname (it's a name I've been known by all my life), and I appear to be the only Tatelou on the net - at least those listed by the search engines - which is very handy when it comes to doing Google searches, to see if any of my stories have been ripped off.

If only I had gone with the pic I found searching for images of 'minsue' on the net when it came time to find an AV instead of the original goose. I would never have know about the world of dressing geese and wouldn't find myself so oddly fascinated by it.

If you click on Profile below each person's post you will see information about that person.

My profile explains my pseudonym.

You know, that's the first time I can remember that anyone has reacted to my nickname that way. ;) I use it simply because it's been my "name" for over thirty years.

You probably won't feel all that comfortable with the name I use for fiction either -- Dirty Old Man. :p

Was born off the 3 word story thread. I'm mad that way. :p

I knew I should be reading that more often. <g>

Where are the wombats, then? <wink>

My name on LIT is just my made up porn star name. I thought it sounded like one a porn actress would use, nothing more than that. I use a pseuodonym for my day job and it's just a joining of two fictional characters I like. Nothing personal or special about it.
I'm not the type to care what the name is, it's meaningless to me. I can understand why others do though, it can help make the writing a little more personal for them.

Oh don't let that weird nick fool you. He's a softie. ;)
And then I didn't even tell you about the technical knowledge he has...

What wombats?? There are no wombats in that thread.

I've decided that denial is best.

Quiver some other words:
frisson, shudder, tingle, chill, thrill, shiver
fear, fearfulness, fright, quivering, shakiness, trembling, shaking, palpitation, vibration motion, tremolo, tremor, shudder, quake, palpitate, flicker, flitter, flutter, waver, move back and forth, pulsate, pulse, throb...

Phildo

PS. Wierd Harold is the kind of name that rings thoughts of "Chester the Molester"

Hey, how is everyone doing?

Oh just fine and you?

Good! yeah everything is fine. Say Tommy what's up with the naked guy over in the corner?

Oh him, that is just Weird Harold. He has been doing that so long now I almost think he is the normal one. You should see the dirty old man when he comes in a little later now that is a scary thought.

Nah, that would be either the black sheep of the outlaw side of the family, Disgusting Daniel, or the Uncle the inlaw side of the clan never talks about much, Horny Harry Hancock.

Me, I'm no wierder than anyone else, I just admit to it. :p

Is he by any chance related to Dick Hurts from Holden Mass.?

I don't know how this name thing works (I got mine first go - go figure) but 'quivers' with a 's' on the end seems to be free.

But if crapgirl doesn't appeal, we are all authors here, except I think the saint and the wombat, so use that imagination we are so fond of claiming we have
