Proud Republicans

'Lifestyle' on this board doesn't normally being a 'Proud Republican', but it could be. That sort of thing is normally on the Fetishes section.

I guess that depends.

Are you are true Republican in every sense of the word as the founders intended?
Are you a Reagan Republican?
Are you a RINO like Romney?
Are you a Trumplican?

I am sure this will get deleted but anyone wanna connect, guilt and shame free, and discuss our politics and lifestyle?
I hope some proud Republicans respond. I’m really curious what a Republican lifestyle consists of.

My Democratic lifestyle consists of walking our elderly dog, working remotely on my laptop, making dinner for my family, and watching cartoons.

If I need to go downtown, I ride the train—there, using mass transit is political!

Lots of big trucks, guns and flags.

By all means. I’d love to hear y’all talk about them gun toting barbecues and those toe tapping airport terminal connections.
The "Toe Tapping Airport Terminal Connection Guy" was a closeted gay senator from Idaho and a Republican, who had, ironically, helped sponsor legislation targeting gays and lesbians (like himself.)

Mostly here, with the Republicans, it's a lot of guns, down at the firing range or out hunting big game in the hills. And farming/ranching. Country Music fans. Saturday is family time, Sunday is NAScar Race Day after church, and then yard work. Those, however, are the reasonable Republicans, the silent majority of Romney and Reagan supporters, and many of those are as disgusted (and in some cases, alarmed) with the extremist marjorie-broebert-carlson fringe who has taken over the party as the non-Republicans.

^^^ Yet they wouldn't be caught dead voting for any candidate of any other party. If anything, they'd stay home and not vote at all.

They shouldn't be. Trump is what Reagan wanted to be, that just wasn't yet politically palatable at the time.

They need trucks for country living, but trucks were smaller when they were workhorses more than luxury vehicles. With the current trend of tall trucks, they are wasting gas, increasing rollover risk, and lifting cargo higher to feel safer, masculine, etc. The used truck market could suck for a little while with mostly jumbo crap, until much higher gas prices tip the whole market upside down.

No, they don't need big trucks at all. And they take up parking spaces and can't drive them properly.

They need a truck for the same reason as they need a gun on the hip, a flag on the vest and a cowboy hat on the head.

They think that the other people in Target will be impressed when they roll into the parking lot.

The truck is for hauling anything too big to fit in a sedan, like bikes and furniture, because most stores don't deliver to remote locations, and thrift stores don't deliver anywhere. That's why I have a truck in the suburbs. When I don't need it, I bike or ride a bus. Maybe a station wagon would be better for me, but those are hard to find in my price range. New wagon buyers love their wagons and keep them until the wheels fall off.

Well, this certainly is an enlightening discussion of Republican who take pride in "the lifestyle".

I remember the ID legislator impeachment hearings. The homophobia was palpable on both dudes.

Why arguing about lifestyle „ideologies“?

Do reasonable things on a case by case decision.
Best argument wins.
No dogmas.

But that’s maybe just my idealistic thinking.

Cheers everyone.
