Protector (closed for Ryanmo97)

Ryan looked at her, "No. It wasn't out of pity." he said as he finished washing the potatoes. "If I didn't do something they were going to lock you up in a mental hospital. I know you don't any family. They only family I have is Furball. I figured a coupled of orphans needed to stick together."

Sasha listened as he told her why. So it wasn't out of pity. Well that was good. "I see." Sasha still couldn't get a lot of words out. They just seemed to be stuck in her throat. Oh how she wished she could speak normal again. "Furball.....cute."

Ryan smiled as Sasha said that Furball was cute. He was a bit sad that she couldn't speak normally. He hoped to help her with that. "Yes... Yes she is... She's an orphan too... I found her in my back yard a few years ago, when she was just a kitten. She was all alone. But, I took good care of her and now she's happy and healthy."

Sasha listened as Ryan told aboutfurball. "Poor kitty, good home." She hoped that Ryan understood that she felt bad the kitty was an orphan but glad it found a good home as she watched him.

Ryan turned on the oven. Got out a baking sheet and started to cut the potatoes into chunks "Yes" said Ryan. "And, If I have my way, I'll have you the same way... happy and healthy. Is there anything you wanted to ask me about? If not, feel free to look around your new home and get use to things."

Sasha smiled and listened to Ryan. She actually didn't want to leave. She liked talking with him and did have some questions so she decided to stay and ask them. "Am I allowed to cook? How long have you worked? How old are you?"

Ryan smiled when Sasha didn't leave. And he gladly answered her questions, as he put the potatoes on a baking sheet and put some seasoning on them, "Sure, You can cook if you like. I was thinking of grilling some chicken breasts on the grill there. They are in the fridge if you want to get them out and cook them. I've been a private investigator for about 10 years. I'm 35."

Sasha hopped off the stool when Ryan said about the chicken. She went to the fridge and got it out and the thought of something. "Mind if I season it?" When her mom had been alive she had actually put an italian blend of spices on the chicken before cooking it. Sasha still remembered how good it tasted and her mouth watered a little.

Ryan smiled when she asked if she could season it, "Sure go right ahead," said Ryan, as he put the potatoes in the oven. "You are in charge of the chicken."

Sasha smiled as he said she could and she went around getting all the things she needed then put them on the chicken and then the chicken went on the grill. Sasha smiled brightly, cooking always made her happy and she was glad to be able to cook again.

Ryan smiled as Sasha smiled while she was cooking. She had a beautiful smile and he hoped to see more of it. Ryan then took some lettuce out of the fridge and started to cut it up.

Sasha walked up to Ryan and watched hin. "Salad? Need help?" Sasha was always wanting to help in anyway she could, sometimes people would have to order her to go take a break before she wore herself completely out.

Ryan shook his head when Sasha asked for help, "Nope. I've got this. You just watch the chicken." Ryan then added some shreeded red cabbage and carrots to the salad.

"Alright." Sasha went over watching the chicken and sighed. She was getting that urge again. She didn't know how that could be after what those men did to her, but she felt like she needed some kind of pleasure. She sighed again, growing restless. She got out a big plate though and waited for the chicken to finish. Once it was done she set it on the plate, proud of her work.

Ryan smiled as Sasha went back to the chicken. He finished making the salad and then put it on the table. When the potatoes were done cooking he dumped them into a serving dish and placed them on the table as well. They set the table and Ryan asked, "What would you like to drink?"

Sasha quietly set the table with Ryan watching him. She smiled as he asked about what she wanted to drink. "Dr. Pepper?"

Ryan got Sasha a Dr. Pepper and a Pepsi for himself. "I would like to make a toast," said Ryan as he raised his can, "To new beginnings."

Sasha smiled and nodded, raising her can before opening it and taking a sip. "Yum." Sasha had always liked Dr. Pepper and was glad to have some.

Ryan smiled and cut into his chicken, "mmm... That's wonderful... You are a great cook Sasha... So... Have you given any thought on what you want to do with your life now that you are free?"

Sasha smiled and nodded as Ryan asked about what she wanted to do. "I love books so I have thought of owning a book shop."

"Really," said Ryan, "That's great... When you think you are ready I'd be willing to help you financially. I've made quite a bit of money over the years through my work and investing."

Sasha was shocked. Was this guy serious? Sasha smiled brightly and went over and hugged him before realizing what she just did and pulling away, her face a deep red. Uh-oh she probably shouldn't have done that. "Sorry, happy." She then went back to her chair and began eating again, hiding her face sort of.

Ryan smiled when Sasha hugged him. Then she sat back down in her chair looking very embarrassed, "No... Don't be sorry... " he said, "I don't mind." They ate and then cleared the table. "So what would you like to do tonight?"

Sasha blushed and ate her dinner after she apologized. She then helped Ryan clear the table. Sasha was surprised when Ryan asked what she wanted to do but knew exactly what she did want to do. "Swim. You, pool. Like, swimming."

Ryan smiled, "You can't go swimming yet." He said, "you have to wait a half hour before eating. What would you like to do before then?"
