Hello all,
A while ago one of the symptoms of prostate cancer was mentioned on TV here, and I realised it was something I experienced on occasion. Despite the fact that I am Caucasian, 21 years old, have no family history, and am otherwise healthy, the hypochondriac in me screamed “You have prostate cancer! You're going to die!” and I was pretty freaked out.
To ease my mind I got on-line and did some research. I read that it was possible to do a “self examination” of my prostate, and though no replacement for a trained professional, it can still be beneficial. After I was confident I knew what I was looking for, I tried it.
Anyway to get to the point, I would like to be sure it was my prostate I found after all, so I wonder if someone more experienced in that kind of thing could describe what it feels like to me?
To my finger it felt much like everything else up there, though not so soft, more 'springy' I guess. Touching it caused a feeling not unlike needing to pee, but more localised around my penis. Also, despite not being the least bit aroused, I became semi erect almost immediately on contact, and returned to normal almost immediately after contact ended. Finally, after the ordeal was over I had a feeling of “pressure” around what I think is my prostate for a while.
This is all rather embarrassing and uncomfortable for me, I can't believe I am even writing this, but you all seem like an open minded bunch of people so your help would be appreciated.
Oh, and I know I should see a doctor, and will, so no need to point that out. Thank you.
