Today may decide Prop 8s fate or extend the conflict.

But it makes me wonder who has the ultimate authority in California, voters or pols.

Prop 8 was passed by the voters and challenged in court by a lesbian couple, the judge was gay. California pols refuse to champion Prop 8 tho they swear to uphold and defend their constitution.

So I wonder about other issues where voters oppose the sentiments of the pols. It happens all the time in Florida. We amend the state constitution and pols ignore the amendments.
