Not sure what you mean by "proofread." Proofreading is comparing old (dead) copy with new (live) copy of the same work and noting the differences. It pretty much is something restricted to the blue line process in print publishing houses these days.

Do you really mean an edit? Or a backup review (reading and mark possible issues)?

I would assume (s)he means copy-editing.
