I usually don't like the nude shots with the faces missing -- too "body parts" if you know what I mean. I hate badly lit sex organs with no person attached to them. Some are shot nicely, but for the most part they all look like stills from a slasher movie. I like faces.

Unlike Indy I don't have to be a pillar of society, but I am sometimes in the public eye (though not lately, damn it -- someone call my agent), and I could be recognized, so no photos from me.

Oh -- another photo genre I can do without -- the rented hotel room shoot.

I admit that I often go and browse the members pages on lit to see if there are any pictures posted, and it's probably more out of curiosity to see what the different members will post. One picture I like a lot is the one that Kitten Eyes have on her profile

which is a great example of a very erotic picture even though she is fully dressed. I would love more like those!!

Doesn't matter to me, as long as there is something there. Any pic tells a bit about your personality, much better than just the written description.

Sorry to disagree BUT... pics are just surface appearance - the old adage "Don't judge a book by its cover"...

I like pics! I will trade pics with those I know but I do not post my pictures in public, for privacy reasons. I send them to those I know and trust.

So... liking pics aside... the question of what is a better indication of your personality - pics or words... without a doubt it is a person's words, thoughts, emotions that are the better indication of who a person is.

There are (I think) three different ways of getting onto a member profile that I have found, and each gives you different information. Not only that but there is more than one place to edit your profile, so some people don't even know you can add pics or fill in the location line.

It would be very nice to have but one profile. The profile for the BB is different than the author page profile and I believe there is also a separate profile for chat. I understand that not everyone is an author here so it wouldn't be appropriate to have every BB member have an author profile BUT, it would be nice if Author's could use their Author profile as their BB profile as well.

I don't know anything about the chat profile, but I think it's different because of the requirements of the chat software. The difference in the file format and disply requirements is probably great enough that tieing that profile into the other two isn't feasible.

However, every BB member DOES have an "author's profile" -- actually a site member's profile. Both use the BB database and are formatted differently. The intent is to link the member's profile format into the BB view and edit links, but it appears to be a tricky programming problem, or at least it's way down the programmer's "to do list."

The difference between a (site) member's profile and an author's profile is that the latter has links to the stories posted as well as the other information.

As far as profiles go, I prefer to see people with clothing on. At first at least.

If I am looking in someone's profile, I am attempting to learn more about them because they have sparked my interest. A nudie shot I want after I know them better.

I'm seriously considering changing (or deleting) my profile pic because of the mail I get about it. I'm gonna post it in this thread and explain a few things.

Now then. First of all, I'm sick of people asking or implying that it's not me. It's me, in all of my Rubenesque glory. I would have chosen a thinner chick if it weren't. Someone told me I took the pic from an ad in Time magazine--Could someone in a real city look at billboards and inform me if I'm an underwear model?

I wanted something that would show my personality without showing my face. I went for the kinda sexy girl-next-door thing, made it grayscale to look all 'artsy.' Took out the background because my dorm room is obscenely recognizable. Added the full nickname because I thought it lent something to the pic, and I can never do anything simple when I'm in paintshop.

I wanted something unique, but I seem to only get flack for it.. People saying "That's not you" when it's more me than any other pic I'd feel comfortable posting.. Blargh. A lot of it's been anonymous-- so if anyone here wants to see the original for verification, E-mail me and I'll send it.

Just had to get that off my chest.

It's a very erotic picture of a great looking real woman! I for one is one of the people in the world that like it when a woman isn't thin like the supermodels. No give me a woman with shapes that's for sure!!

You have done a fantastic job with the photo, I think it is a credit to your body (yes my preference runs to rubenesque, always has and I hope always will) and your work in Photoshop that you are disbelieved. Your proffesional work on the photo is to be envied, no surprise peole don't want it to be real.

Don't take away the pic, it is fantastic and says so much.

I liked the pic Endlessly..You shouldn't take it down. My pictures are just regular headshots because as I have said in various other threads, i don't think I would feel comfortable putting some nudie shot of myself up. I put up my pics because they showed my face, but in particular my eyes. I think that is where you can tell the most about someone. If I put up some shot of me in some kinda wild and kinky position, well gracious, what would people think..lol. And good lord, I would hate it if someone like WTF? flamed me...actually I would probably just tell him off like I did in the thread flaming Cheyenne. Sad for me to say, but I do really like the male pics...*hmmmm I wonder why* I submitted my pics for my bio but Laurel sent me an email telling me she couldn't open it, Stupid AOL. I guess I prefer not to see the entire person, I like t use my imagination, but if anyone asks, I always send a picture of me, fully-clothed. I like the mysterious pictures... like the ones that show a beautiful angle of body part, but it's more a work of art, not a blatantly sexual picture. As for me, I like my lips
