I am having persistent troubles editing some, but not all, of my threads. I will click to edit, make my changes, hit "Edit" and be informed that my changes have been made.

But the next verdammt time I check the thread, the old version is the one showing! Is this a common experience? I hate having threads out there with misspellings, grammatical lapses, etc.

(And don't even get me started on 'editors' who INTRODUCE such errors into my text!)

This is not something I have ever had a problem with. The only time I noticed it I realized that I had not refreshed my screen after using the back key so I was looking at an old version of the thread. Once I refreshed the new version was there.

What do you mean by "(And don't even get me started on 'editors' who INTRODUCE such errors into my text!)?

Please fill me in on that.

:D

Maybe you've been lucky, Jake. I mean that when I log back in from a different computer, the bad old unedited text will be there, and my changes will have vanished.

(As far as the other part, I suspect you of sarcasm, my lad, yes I does.)

Slightly confused here as to whether you are talking about editing your own threads in your own stories, or whether you are talking about threads that you have contributed to other people's stories (and I suspect Jake was too).

If it is threads inyour own stories, then you're right, changes ought to follow automatically and I'm as confused as you. If its threads in stories edited by others, then I think you need to wait for them to approve your changes.

If its threads in stories edited by others, then I think you need to wait for them to approve your changes.

I mean that that edits I make to my threads in other folks' stories sometimes take effect, and then I have to simply await approval by the editor; and sometimes they do nothing of the sort, and all my efforts are for nought. When all I want to do is change a typo and a couple of capitalization errors in a thread awaiting approval, it's frustrating to make the changes, hit "Edit Thread," see them displayed all nice and neat, and later come back to find the same old errors enshrined under my pseudonym for eternity.

Hope that's clearer.

if you're editing a thread you made in someone else's story...
then yes you do have to wait for them to approve it.

it sucks 'coz you really didn't change anything, just fixed the spelling. but that's just how it is.

If you have been upgraded to "trusted" status by an editor your updates should be instantanious once you click update other wise you have to wait for the editor to approve changes.
