Magus stormed into his tower with a powerful stride. His men bowed as he strode past them without a second glance. Beside him his aide Jonan hurried to keep up with the large powerful man. Magus stood a massive six foot six, which meant he towered over most people and even most elves who where generally taller than humans as well. On top of his height he was broad, muscular, and powerful. When his hand gripped his mighty sword, people knew that things were going to die.
In the 100-years since the war between mankind and elves began, Magus alone had been responsible for more victories than five of the best human generals combined. His power and ability on the battlefield made him the most feared being in the world. Men feared him on pure awe, elves feared him because the man refused to die to anything that they threw at him.
Among the elves, Magus's name was a nightmare. Countless elven warriors simply fled from rumors that Magus may appear before them.
This very tower, which now belonged to Magus, was once a Elvish library. It once housed books of lore and magic, but those all have long since been lost. The tower had been a relic when Magus took it over, and with a bit of remodeling, it was now his palace. Very well defended, yet luxurious throughout the inside. Especially his chambers where there was a wonder surprise awaiting him.
"So the elf is there now?" Magus asked, making his way to the stair case that led up a hundred feet to his glorious bedroom.
Janan nodded, "Yes my lord. We all thought that her interogation would be best handled by you personally. Besides we've never caught a live elf before, they usually use magic to kill themselves before we can get any useful information from them."
"Yet this one lives? Does he not possess any magics?"
"It's a female sir, and apparently she doesn't have magic. At least I would assume she would have used it by now right?" Janan asked.
Magus paused on a step, "Unless her magic is meant to be used to try and assassinate me."
Janan blubbered, "My lord, I didn't think of this. We shall have her executed at once!"
Magus shook his head, "No we shall not. Magic has yet to harm me, and I doubt she could have anything worth noting now. I will speak with her, maybe have some fun with her. Maybe I'll learn something of the elves that can be useful against them."
Janan blinked, "As you wish sire."
Magus made his way up the stairs and stood before his chamber doors. The woman was inside, bound and waiting for her death to come walking through the door. Magus smiled to himself, he knew of his legends and wondered what kind of face she would make when he opened the door and revealed himself to her. He only hoped that she didn't wet herself, he would hate to have to get a new rug.
Steeling himself he opened the door and moved powerfully into the bedroom.
