Pretti shitty

It's also coming out that he has a history of violent interaction/interference with ICE.

ICE agents tackled Pretti last week and kneeled on his back breaking one of his ribs. We need to know if any of the agents who attacked him the first time were among the gang who eventually shot him and killed him.

Seems he is not too bright. When the ICE officer knocked him down, the first time, for mouthing off, and interfering, he should have gotten up and walked away. His Dad had already told him not to go down there.

Or you know, you could just take a moment and consider if Pretti has a history of violence

His behavior hints at a well known evolution among those who commit violent acts. The first acts are benign but soon the violence begins to escalate, spiraling into more and more violence and brutality until eventually someone dies.

This is most often seen in takeover robberies but is also present in domestic violence situations. (see: Cycle of Violence.)

This is what was going on with Pretti. Except those who deny his past actions and blame his victims for his ultimate death refuse to see it.

The violence was all perpetrated by ICE

. . . Pretti, 37, was left with a broken rib after being tackled by a group of officers during a protest against Donald Trump's immigration crackdown, a source told CNN. . . .

Pretti allegedly began shouting and blowing a whistle, and was then tackled to the ground by five agents. The source claimed one officer leaned on his back, causing his ribs to break.

The ICU nurse, who allegedly 'thought he was going to die', was reportedly released at the scene - but allegedly remained on federal agents' radar.

Agents deployed in Minneapolis were instructed earlier this month to 'capture all images, license plates, identifications, and general information on hotels, agitators, protestors,' according to documents obtained by the outlet.

Federal officers are understood to have kept documented details about Pretti, although it is unclear when they first started collecting information on him. . . .

Right. ICE just walks down the street strong arming anyone whenever they feel like knocking heads. No rhyme or reason, they just beat people because they feel like it...

Pretti was an anti-ICE protestor. He was an agitator who was told by his parents not to do what he was doing. He did it anyway and got thumped for his interference and ended up with a broken rib.

Rather than learn a lesson, he decided to escalate the violence (see my prior post on that) and got thumped again. Except this time his escalation of violence had him bring a gun to a mob protest and that got him killed.

ICE was the tool he used to commit suicide. Nothing more, nothing less.

You've seen the videos. ICE does walk down the street strong arming people. They drag USA citizens off in handcuffs in their underwear in the winter cold. They smash car windows. They break down doors (without a warrant). They beat and pepper spray peaceful protestors, which is what you acknowledge Alex Pretti was.

Guess you don't care about either your first amendment or (in Pretti's case) your second.

Hey, if someone stole your wallet, would you say you had a "history of theft"?

If someone stole my wallet I'd say THEY probably had a history of theft. And I'd be right more than 90% of the time.
Well there you go! You said Alex Pretti had a "history of violence" but he was peacefully protesting when ICE slammed him to the ground and broke his rib. It is ICE that has a "history of violence" not the ICU nurse.

I've seen videos of ICE doing their job. Under the law they have the authority to stop and question ANYONE they suspect of being here illegally and demand ID to prove legal status.

The ONLY time I've seen them use force is when they are opposed or interfered with while performing their duties.

What I haven't EVER seen is them just deciding to knock heads for no reason. Which is what you're saying they're doing.

In the end, every person who has been arrested, hurt, or dies as a result of ICE using force did something illegal and/or violent prior to ICE using that force.

The sad part is that you'll refuse to say so no matter how much proof is out there.

No American wants to live in a country where an official can demand to see your papers. We resent even being asked to show a driver's license when pulled over.

But the people being sought aren't Americans.

Videos of confrontations between Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents and Minneapolis residents have flooded social media, showing some of the 3,000 officers who are deployed in the city stopping, questioning and detaining residents.

In one case, immigration agents escorted a U.S. citizen who is a grandfather of Hmong ancestry out of his house in his underwear in freezing weather. In another case, a father of a 5-year-old girl was briefly detained and zip-tied after he said a federal agent falsely accused him of not being a U.S. citizen because of his accent. The agency is also under scrutiny for reportedly dispatching a 5-year-old boy to knock on the front door of his home to lure relatives outside before agents then took the child into custody.

Mouthing off to the police is protected by the 1st amendment. As is observing them. In both encounters with Pretti, ICE was in the wrong.

Holy shit.

One distinction between civilisation and autocracy is that in a civilised society the coppers can't walk up to you and say, "Show me your papers."

In the USA you have all this "probable cause" and "fourth amendment" and all kinds of court cases discussing this issue.
