Your meeting with North Korean leader Kun Jong Un was not only historic, it was an incredible first step that will result in the complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.

The con artist's willingness to meet with North Korea is one of the most disturbing displays of his lack of foreign policy experience.

Your blind rage is one of the reasons Mr Trump was elected POTUS.

Your inability to control your anger will guarantee Mr Trump a second term.

Going forward, I suggest you think before you post.

If you're this angry now, I can only imagine how angry you'll be in....

2018 when Democrats take back the Senate

2020 when Democrats take back the House

2020 When a Democrat is elected POTUS and single-payer healthcare becomes a reality

Make up your mind.

Let us hope that is the case. But as you pointed out, it's a 'first step' with many more steps to be taken on that road.

I notice that the beltway pundits are all over this with there own spin on the meeting and the "agreement" which in reality is more akin to a "Letter of Intent." Let them rattle on, that's what they're paid to do.

I expect that there is going to be a lot of newsprint spewed from the usual suspect bemoaning the fact that nothing regarding the human rights abuses in N. Korea were addressed. I don't particularly care about that. If guaranteeing the the removal of a nuclear holocaust is the goal then ignoring the plight of the N. Korean citizenry for the time being is a small price to pay. Kim has expressed a desire to follow the Chinese path to prosperity for his nation. Should he succeed the citizens of N. Korea are going to reap enormous benefits. They'll still be under the thumb of the regime but they won't be starving to death and there will be a future for their children.

Kim is going to face some not insignificant problems on this path as well. He has a huge military, far beyond what would be considered 'normal' for a nation of that size. Converting the military sector into a private sector is not going to come without significant risk to Kim personally. There are going to be segments within the military that are not going to look on these events with anything but hostility. Perhaps even to the point of trying to pull off a military coup. How are we, and China, going to react to that very real possibility? Kim has to somehow convert his military into a civilian workforce. That is not going to occur overnight. Many in the military are not going to take kindly to going from an elite class to being a factory worker putting Tab A in Slot A. Should Kim be serious in his goals this is going to be the true test of his leadership of the Hermit Kingdom.

I'm certain that the US and S. Korea will play a large role in this conversion of the economy, but how is that going to play out? After all both, along with Japan, have been the "hated enemy' of that state now for well over 70 years. China too will play a role, but the Koreans have mistrusted the Chinese for even longer than they've hated us. Yet another balancing act that Kim is going to have to pull off.

All of that being said I am cautiously hopeful that this is the beginning of a new paradigm in that part of the world that will remove one more potential flash point that could lead to unimaginable death and destruction.

So a pyschopathic murderer got center stage for an hour thanks to another attention whore. Nothing to see here, folks.

It is your belief that single-payer healthcare and Trump's decision to meet with Kim Jong Un are the same thing?

No but saying a Democrat will win in 2020 and then saying Trump will get a 2nd term are a just a tad bit contradictory.

Why can't you accept the fact that Trump's meeting with Kim Jong Un was a good thing?

Couldn’t be more different. Single payer is a thing we ought to have, the Trump/Kim meet and greet was a waste of time and jet fuel.

If it actually happens, great. Not holding my breath.

I did find it pretty funny when the fox and friends host said this was an historic meeting "between two dictators"

The way to the White House in 2020 for the Dems is not by making Trump the issue.

Single-payer healthcare will become a reality in 2021.

Why was the summit a waste of time?

The complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.

Define "denuclearization". It's a trendy buzzword now that means different things to different people.

Kim came out FAR ahead of the USA in this "meeting". He arrived early, got enormously favorable publicity from his midnight walkabout, met briefly with Trump, then his aides announced that the talks would conclude at 7 p.m. gotta go dontcha know. That made Trump lose face and spew yeah, we were gonna leave at 7 pm too. Suuuure.

Kim got he wanted: recognition of his country from the big boys. He's tried for the past two administrations to get this recognition, both Dubya and Obama said no. Trump saw the possibility of A) his beloved "good optics" and B ) a Nobel Peace Prize so he threw longstanding American policy into the dumpster in pursuit of personal glory.

Bottom line: Kim won. They'll spin it otherwise, but Kim won.

That hasn't happened and there's no timetable for it and no deal for it. How is that an accomplishment?

It's accomplishment because Trump is the first American president to meet with a North Korean leader.

It's an accomplishment because the first meeting will lead to more meetings where specifics can be discussed, agreed to & implemented.

It's an accomplishment because the complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula may one day become a reality.

It's an accomplishment because the complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula makes the world a safer place.

You said one of the accomplishments was complete denuclearization and now you are saying that hasn't happened.
Fuckin' seriously.
