Prelude for pardons yet to come? Trump to pardon Scooter Libby

President Donald Trump has reportedly signed a full pardon for Scooter J. Libby, the former chief of staff to Vice President Dick Cheney. Given the conviction for allegations against Libby, it is hard not to draw an analogy to figures like Michael Flynn or even Michael Cohen.

The Libby pardon does serve to remind people that other presidents used this power to protect their former aides. Could it be a prelude of pardons to come?

Honestly, I have no idea. Comey would say that this is a mob boss letting his people know, sit tight, I'll bail you out in the end. Others might say that this was a slap in the face to the Bush Family via W. who didn't have the balls or the loyalty to pardon the guy who fell on the sword for him.

For certain, the DUMZ will say, McCabe merely mis-spoke......But then again, Libby said he couldnt remember a specific date from yrs ago and he didnt lie

Supporters of Libby, including Cheney, have long pushed for a pardon. The effort intensified after former New York Times reporter Judith Miller’s 2015 book where she doubted the accuracy of her testimony that prosecutors used to convict Libby.

Miller testified in 2007 that Libby told her Plame was a CIA agent. Prosecutors used that testimony to say Libby lied.

But Miller wrote in her 2015 book, “The Story: A Reporter’s Journey” that she’s worried her memory “may have failed me” during the trial, and now doubts Libby ever told her that Plame worked for the CIA.
