Prayers, good thoughts, etc. needed

Glad to hear the first part is over and went ok...hope the rest does so too.

Dear friends,

I can't tell you how much I appreciate your thoughts and prayers. Cloudy thank you for creating a thread for me, special hugs to you my redskinned sister.

Just a quick backdrop, my mother was hospitalized 2 years ago and by some small miracle recovered from an unfortunate series of events (not the Lemony Snickett kind). I can't count the times she was given last rites.

Both she and my father are not in the best of health and have COPD on top of other problems. Mom also turns 80 on Sunday.
Anyhoo, we were told to get to the hospital to talk with the doctors right away. Expecting some major conference compounded with the obvious news about her age and the condition of her lungs we thought, this is it and steeled ourselves for the worst case scenerio.
Needless to say after several rounds of the beaurocratic asshole dance and rumor of a surgery time set up...she had her surgery.
The poor thing, she's weighs 100lbs wet these days and you could see she was tired as well as sick. Her gallbladder had become a disgusting little gangrene time bomb.
When the surgeon finally got the okay to start she spoke with us and gave us all the risks. She's an awesome lady. Fortunatly she was able to do the belly button procedure, the reason it took so long was that the gall bladder had begun to fall apart and had to be bagged before it could be removed. How fascinating is that?
Mom remained stable throughout the surgery and did not need to go to ICU. (We had many bad experiences there when she served her 3 month sentence there)

Talked to sis and mom ate real food and kept it down today. Hopefully she's coming home tomorrow.

So just wanted to come back and tell you thank you from the bottom of my cold, cold heart.

Love you more than my luggage.

Abs.

That's great to hear! to Abs and her mommy. My dad had a similar procedure done a few years ago. I can only tell you that she is gonna feel a million times better with that gallbladder out of there. Here's to hoping for a smooth and happy recovery.

Sorry I'm getting to this so late. We have a wee loved one in the hospital as well.

I'm glad that your mom came through surgery and is on the road to recovery. {{{hugs}}} :rose:

Hello all, just to update.

Got off the phone with mom and she sounds great and feels much better. She's even eating.
No word on when she comes home yet.

I've never seen anyone come through things with such strength. Tough gals in my family on mom's side. :D

Thank you all once more for the well wishes and warmth. :rose:

That's GREAT news, Abs.

Obviously, some AH'ers have pull with a higher power.
