OK ladies, I need some help. Wow, I just realized this is going to sound extremely cheesy and unbelievable, and I haven't even said anything yet.
I'm working on a story that's pretty true-to-life called "Flirting Practice".
Here's the catch: I'm a shy nerd, and a terrible flirt. I can write the part of the shy nerd perfectly well. The problem is, I can't manage to step into the female role. I'm failing miserably at FLIRTING WITH MYSELF.
Anything you want to throw out would help, be it pick up lines, flirty comments you've used or found endearing, or first date events (that's the setting) that you've enjoyed, or haven't enjoyed for that matter.
I'm also telling part of the story as a pep talk flashback, so I can certainly use any helpful tips you would be willing to provide as well, in the story or real life.
One of the reasons I write is to learn about myself, and I want to treat this the same way. But my limited knowledge of the female psyche is making that difficult in this case.
