Which do you prefer giving? I like the personal frivilous gifts myself, like the diamonds or the book she had been wanting. The fantasy goddess however, prefers the practical gifts and has threatenedd me this year. Seems that I spent to much money on her last year. Yep, you heard me, if I spend a lot on her, she's gonna be pissed. Just where is the logic in that? Women, sheeesh. So now I am lost, guess it's gonna be toothbrushes and toilet paper for her this year. Cheap and practical.

It is December 23rd and NOW you're just thinking about it?

Cheap and practical doesn't have to be obnoxious. Get her something she'd need anyway- jacket or coat, underwear or bras (you get to pick it out!), gift certificate for hair cuts, etc. Throw in something that is a little "extra" that she may not normally buy for herself but that you know she would like. That could be anything from flavored coffee to a gift certificate for a manicure. Gifts that are practical can still be fun!

What about a weekend away with you waiting on her hand and foot?

Weekend?

She's got that already, 7 days a week. I don't call her the fantasy goddess for nothing. And, I have already bought her the practical gifts she asked for, I was being facetious.

Oooh, I like Cheeeeeeeyyyyyyeeeennnnneeeee!

Good for you! Scared me, thought you were a "typical man" after all just starting your shopping today!

If you got her everything she asked for she'll be happy. If you throw in a thing or two that she didn't ask for, she'll be esctatic. :)

An idea from Sparky: my ribbon is ready for Christmas Eve. And it's a BIG ribbon. For my salami.

I peeked already (I am nototrious for it), and I know what I am getting for Christmas.
A breadmaker.
I am not pleased.
Practical doesn't have to mean thoughtless.

And now you can be not pleased all over again on Christmas...

Peeking is not fair....

Not you have to ACT suprised, and say how you love it... you always needed one... etc etc

I never said peeking was fair. I can't help myself...especially when I saw the size of the box it was in....I have every intention of smiling as I tell him it is going back to the store....
