When posting a large article to a thread, should the link be posted, or the text of the article?

I prefer that the article be posted, rather than the link. There are issues with links...By all means, post the link too, but I would rather see the text.

If the article is copyrighted, and almost all are, then it is proper etiquette (not to mention the law and the rule here) to not post it in its entirety. A short blurb or intro is good, then provide the link. Not only does posting the complete article infringe on the copyrights of the author, but it annoys many people here, wastes bandwidth and can cause a hassle for Lit.

Just post enough to tease and provide a URL. Everybody here can click on the link to read it if they wish and everybody is happy.

If you want to discuss the article then you may include those paarts you are discussing directly, but don't just post the whole article and discuss it (unless you intersperse comments about each and every sentence).

Not for editorials. I don't think it's a bad thing to spread thoughts. That's why they were put to paper. I consider it my own personal archival means...

[and you don't know if the link is legit or not]

I know what others may think, but THAT IS NOT my dream woman!
