Could someone please advise how I can post a photo to a thread directly from the stored pictures on my laptop?

Go to the reply box. Just above it are a number of icons. In the middle is a chain. Just to the right of it is a mountain or something. Click on that and follow the directions.

If I understand correctly, you have to have photos on some sort of file sharing site. Many people use imgur.

I use drop box and post a link, but I think imgur or bb allow you to put the actual pic in the list, rather than a link.

Alternatively to add images from a laptop, make sure your pictures are in the jpg or jpeg format and then simply drag and drop them into your reply: that's how I make my posts here. Be aware this only works for posts into a thread like this it does not work for PMs. It's as simple as this cheeky example
