I did an interactive Choose Your Own Adventure story in a discord channel a little while ago, and I was thinking about posting it on Literotica. The issue is that it's an html file right now, not a word doc. It's also not a typical story format, since I was just presenting choices to the audience and then writing up what happened.

Any recommendations on how to share the content? I could type it up as a word file and submit it chapter by chapter, but I was hoping for some feedback from authors with more experience using the site.

If I understand correctly, what you have is one completed path through a story that was run as a CYOA, rather than a full CYOA with all the choices available.

In that case, I'd be inclined to convert it into a more conventional story style. Formatting it as a CYOA but without choices that the readers can make is likely to be confusing.

OTOH, if it is a full CYOA - probably best to PM Laurel and ask about options. The site does host some CYOAs with hyperlinks, but I haven't seen any new ones recently, so I don't know if that's still supported.

Yes, that's a better way of putting it - "interactive rpg" is probably a more accurate description than CYOA, since I have a completed story with one set of player choices. I think people would still have fun reading through it, but I can definitely appreciate how it could be confusing or less interesting since a new reader wouldn't be able to make any choices.

Re-writing it as a short story is a good recommendation, thank you!

Someone did a CYOA last year- posted the premise and then said there would be three options they could read. All were different and took the reader to places unexpected. It was a good experiment, but I can't remember its name or anything. I think it was Non-con too...

I don't know if one thing led to the other, but...

Manu (of Laurel & Manu, gods of Literotica) just posted about "Literotica Interactive Stories" in this thread:
http://forum.literotica.com/showthread.php?t=1498419

He's looking for Beta testers/authors. If your story is already in an "interactive rpg" format respond there or contact him via DM.

("Just posted" two years ago. The one thing leading to another was me boosting it.)

If the completed adventure is an HTML file, why not copy it from the browser?

Copy/pasting the html text makes the formatting pretty much unreadable, especially since it's coming from a Discord channel where people were voting using reactions. I could take some time to clean things up, make it into a word doc and just bold or italicize the choice that was made. That was part of why I was looking for feedback from people - I didn't want to put in the work of transcribing the story from html to word if the story format wouldn't work as a submission in the first place.

I don't see why it wouldn't, provided it's a decent length. Not sure it's worth splitting into chapters.

(If you'd like me to take a look at the source, PM me and we'll sort something out.)
