Well, October is coming to a close and fall is near, the time is set back an hour.
I love this time of year and thought maybe we could share some pics with one another. the colors, the smells, the sites and sounds of fall from burning leaves to kids playing in the pile of leaves that were once raked up into a pile.
what do you like about this time of year? care to share?

Ahhh nice picture Batter. ummm the leaves are very pretty too.

and when did spring get turned into a month?

not exactly the last rose of summer but.

this is my other Japanese Toad Lily.

Oh my gosh, the flowers are stunning, Batter. Please tell me, did you plant these things, or did you have help? I don't have much luck with plants of the living variety. Whenever I go into a garden supply store and decide to take a look at the beautiful flowers and shrubs, you can see them all start to wilt as I walk by. And, if you listen very closely, you can actually hear them start to cry. It's most pitiful. The store has deemed me a major liability.

Anyway....I love the Autumn, too. I love the beautiful greens, the sparkling golds, the feiry reds. The trees all look like beautiful bursts of exploding crayons. And the scent.....oh, the delicious scent of the leaves on the ground and the aroma of all the fall flowers coming into a life of their own.

Yes, Autumn is certainly the most beautiful of the seasons. Do you think it has something to do with the time in which we were born? Maybe it's becaue we were born during this time of year? I've often wondered about that.

Enjoy!

OH Fall as in time of year.....I thought you meant Fall over....sheesh

great pic. thanks for posting it. and ummm..i meant tree leafs, not leaf springs! if that is your vehicle, i hope no one was hurt.

Enchanted...

very nice to see you again on the BB.

i wish i knew how to bring up the older posts we had on here because there was one thread started by a friend ,Desert Amazon, and we had posts and lots of pics of our flower beds and we had some great pics posted by lots of people on here.

i have expanded my flower bed last year and have a perennial garden growing and i fill in here and there with annuals.

i would love to show you the thread. maybe i can see if i can locate it and resurrect it so you can see the pics of flowers and cacti and lightning storms. if i find it and re post it, i will pm or e-mail you so you know which one it is.

one more..i must be getting tired, i cant remember what it is called.

Thank you, Batter, very much. You never know, maybe after seeing all of the pictures, I just might be given some incentive to explore this new world for myself. Maybe I've just been going about it the wrong way.

The tree in my front yard is of some variety, don't have a clue, that doesn't turn such beautiful shades in the Autumn. The leaves turn this green-brown color and then they fall to the ground. This year, for some unknown reason, there were some very interesting shades of yellow-brown, and a very light orange-brown. I have a feeling the drought we had has produced some strange effects on all of the growing nature this year.

Thank you again for looking for the pictures. This could be the start of a new me. ha!

AZoutdoors, I'm happy I wasn't inside that jeep. I'm going to guess you're from Arizona. I'm pretty quick that way.

The jeep is a firends.....we wheel alot here in AZ.....Just got back from a trip to MOAB for a week....I like my motor sports @ 2 hours a mile!

Fall is the most beautiful time of year here in Michigan, too dam bad it is directly succeeded by winter! uuuuuuugh. anyway, i have just taken some fall color pictures, so here ya go!

stondtmplpilot

thanks for adding to the thread.
i like the fall colors in the trees and bushes.
i agree that it is a shame winter follows soon but snow too can make some awsome looking pics in the trees.
i hope you post some more.

well, back by popular demand, the color of the mitten state!

I think fall is the prettiest time of year--but I hate that it means its getting colder brrrrrrr

luv2tvl69

nothing to worry about the cold weather.
makes for some nice snuggle times to help ward off the chills. ;)

actually, i enjoy the snow if it stays and the weather does not bounce from cold to mild melting to rain to snow to mild again.
i used to like being the first one out after a snowfall and looking at my lone footprints in the snow. i dont know why i did that.
anyway, i hope we can do this kind of thread with snow pics later on.
and thankyou for posting a pic.

In October of last year we moved to Connecticut. I am a southern California native, so it was the first time I had really seen fall colors (other than pictures). I was truly awestruck. I actually had trouble keeping my eyes on the road when I was driving because of the canopy of vivid colors all around me.

Reno actually has some really pretty fall foliage too, but I haven't shot any pictures of it yet. So, I offer you this picture taken last fall in Ridgefield, Connecticut, off the back deck of our house.
