Depends on which count you use.

The post total at the botom of the main index doesn't include deleted posts, the internal numbering assigned to the posts does include deleted posts.

For example, your post to start this thread is #16,388,822 which is a hundred-thousand or so more than the "official" post count. So is post #17 Million the one numbered 17,000,000 or the post that pushes the total of existing posts over 17 million?

ps: this post is # 16,396,244 by the internal numbering system.
