The original idea has a lot of incest in it, but that could easily be changed. It would be a sort of courtroom drama-type thing, or something leading up to a trial of some sort. (Husband murdering wife and/or daughter?) The girl's diary would be used as evidence, each entry (or two or three, if they were short) could be used as a chapter for the novella.
Buildup to the story: dead body found, the officers investigating find the diary and start flipping through it, find something that they think might be of use to the lawyers (maybe something about her feeling threatened or something)... copies are sent to the lawyers and they start reading through it, finding out the parents were separated/divorced, she had been living with one of them, and the other wanted back into their lives
main part of the story: as the diary goes on it tells details about sexual encounters with first one parent, then the other... concerns about jealousy come into the picture, since one or both have violent tempers, tensions build as both relationships continue and become more demanding, etc.
end part: could have something to do with being in the actual courtroom itself, or just the last entry of the diary... just a couple of thoughts
i'm way too busy to take on something like this, and already have a few stories in the works, so if anybody has any suggestions or would like to take it on, feel free to do so.
