Possessive Friends

Has anyone else experienced this? Friends who cannot share you with another? I've had several people in my lifetime with whom I've developed friendships who cannot seem to be able to share me or anyone for that matter, with another.

Isn't it just eerie?

I had a woman move in next to me almost 2 years ago who proceeded to consume all of my time whether I liked it or not. Then, over time, I began to realize that her behavior was mimicking my own. Yes, yes.. it was "Single White Female" played out before my very eyes and I was scared. (nervous laugh) Yes, I was really freaked out.

She cut her hair like mine, got her navel pierced, began to come onto the men in my friend circle and actually began to use my mannerisms and adopt my speech patterns.

Whenever I had another person over, she would magically appear and hover, ingratiate (or try to) and then negatively critique hem the next day.

I'm sure a lot of you out there have had experiences with people who are unable to have more than one friend at a time. Soooo, make me feel better. I have a specific situation going on right now where I could use some advice.
