Okay, I think I've mentioned here before that I've been working really hard to get promoted to salary at mcd's.

Well the past few weeks there's been a rumor that I got the promotion and I'm being transfured to a brand new store. I mean brand spanking new, they're building it right now. It's going to be totally state of the art. No french fries on the side of the building, we're talking real classy mcd world.

Well today it was confirmed. I'm being promoted and I'm going to this brand new store. I am so excited. Everything will be fresh in this store. The crew will be trained the right way, the upper management are all by the book, so it won't be trying to teach an old dog new tricks, we're starting with pups.

The store is set to open May 31 right now, but they're trying to push to open it May 15th. And I'll be promoted and start in that store 2 weeks before it opens. To get everything cleaned up and what not.

I am so excited. I have worked so hard for this and was starting to think that I was being looked over.

This promotion will mean a few things that are really positive for me. One I'll be able to afford my own health insurance, so there will be no need to keep puting off the devorse. As well as nearly doubling my income, I'll be doubling my vacation time as well, so not only will I have the money to travel but the time to do it as well. Which means I'll finally be able to visit my Love, and some what frequently at that. (5 weeks vacation means I'll be able to visit almost every other month). I'll also be able to aford a car payment so I can give dad back his van. And I can start thinking about moving into a larger apt, one that will be all my own, and not one that I started out with some one. I am so excited I could cry.

Thank you all for being so suportive here. You hear all the bad, I thought it might be nice to share some good stuff.

No kidding.

When I talked to the dm, she said that it's projected out for me that this time next year I'll be promoted to 1st assistant (I'm going to be 2nd assistant now), and another promotion a year after that. So we're talking having my own store in 2 years! Of course she mentioned that this will all depend on my performance, but any one that knows me knows it's just not in me to give less than 100+% in anything I do. She's just a bit worried because the last two that were promoted from my store went mia.

Thank you so much cat. I think I was just caught in a bad moment, but it's bound to happen some times.

So true...it happens to the best of us. Seems to be the law of the universe. Holding on until the upward swing comes is not always easy, but much better than quitting.

You know this whole thing really has me thinking. My own store in 2 years, I mean, WOW! And corporate has such great benifits when you get up that high.

I've also been thinking about the people in my life that have helped me along the way and I realized something. There is one manager at this store, our 1st assistant, who has always pushed my buttons. She just seems to nag and pick. You can do a million things and she'll find the one you didn't and focas on that. For the longest time I've not liked her because of this, but I realized something. I would not be the manager I am, if she hadn't had been there. Other managers I know are very wishy washy, not to say this one doesn't have her own moments. She's a by the book manager about 90% of the time, so you never know what you're getting. But while she was training me she expected me to know all the procedures, even if she didn't follow all of them. I'm going to have to brush up a bit, as this new store is set up to be 100% by the book, but I'd have a lot farther to go if she hadn't have been there.
