Positive Thoughts, please

Fnancial security is what we all seem to look for, but I look for job satisfaction, if I'm going to be doing it for any length of time. Lilfe is too short to hate getting up every morning just for a pay check.

That is what I look for too. Job Satisfaction and good benefits. I am kinda in the same boat as I will have an offer in the next week or so. I do not worry, because I have been working at this company as a temp for a while. But it is more difficult to place yourself when you are younger.

I always say, look to see if there is opportunity for financial AND professional growth in the company. Then try to find out the mid range salary in your job description/category. If you do not know what it is. Google the job title and then search for comparable jobs in your country/city etc. That should help you pinpoint the correct salary range.

I've inquired about salary, and was asked what I'd require- which I need to decide upon, since I very very very much need a job, and this is a once in a Lifetime opportunity- I have to weigh the future potentials, against what I feel is a resaonable salary for the position...

Last interview that I was at where they asked me this question I said "One Million Dollars". When the guys eyebrows went up I added "per hour".

It broke the awkwardness and then the negotiations went smoothly. Really needing the job does add an extra level of tummy butterflies though.
