Positive Thoughts, please

Fnancial security is what we all seem to look for, but I look for job satisfaction, if I'm going to be doing it for any length of time. Lilfe is too short to hate getting up every morning just for a pay check.

That is what I look for too. Job Satisfaction and good benefits. I am kinda in the same boat as I will have an offer in the next week or so. I do not worry, because I have been working at this company as a temp for a while. But it is more difficult to place yourself when you are younger.

I always say, look to see if there is opportunity for financial AND professional growth in the company. Then try to find out the mid range salary in your job description/category. If you do not know what it is. Google the job title and then search for comparable jobs in your country/city etc. That should help you pinpoint the correct salary range.

Good thoughts to ya!

I need to come up with a new marketing and business plan for next year and implement ASAP due to election year funding cut backs. I just don't wanna right now.

Don't quite know yet... I've inquired about salary, and was asked what I'd require- which I need to decide upon, since I very very very much need a job, and this is a once in a Lifetime opportunity- I have to weigh the future potentials, against what I feel is a resaonable salary for the position...

(Godd*mned romantic booksellers... why is it that everyone thinks simply loving books can make them successful in this business?)

Last interview that I was at where they asked me this question I said "One Million Dollars". When the guys eyebrows went up I added "per hour".

It broke the awkwardness and then the negotiations went smoothly. Really needing the job does add an extra level of tummy butterflies though.

So how did it go?

Thanks, Betticus! I'm going to use that next time the situation comes up. :D

Sorry for being so silent, y'all; I was out of town for the weekend.

I'll let y'all know when it's safe to uncross your fingers. :)

Everyone can uncross their fingers; thank you for the good thoughts.

All I can say are two words that rarely escape my lips:

Well fuck.

:(

That doesn't sound good, but they didn't deserve you anyway.

Now, what about that fuck?

You insterted an apostrophe thingie, where it was not meant to go. Bad Betticus!
Well, shit...I know where I"d like to insert my thingie...and I can say it's far arger than that apostrophe. Shit, it's an exclamation point, at least! :p
