Porn Site, or Adult Social Network. You decide.

I have noticed in surfing some of the threads of friends in here, that some consider this a porn site, is it really? While yes there is a section for am pics, there is a whole lot more that makes this more of an adult orientated social network site. People share things, like stories, real life and imaginary, and pics of themselves( a little more risque then what you would find on facebook and myspace though). To me that says Social Network. Not Porn site.

Take the name of the site Literotica, now take the just the word Erotica. To me also, there is major difference in Porn and Erotica. Porn involves nudity yes, but it can also involve truly degrading things like Bestiality, Necrophilia, among other things. The moderators here do a wonderful job in keeping nasty stuff off here, This is Erotica, beautiful pics of Adults doing normal things.

For example, take what I bolded in your quote. Truly degrading? To whom? You? Is your definition of what degredation is the absolute truth? How you define degredation, normal, or nasty is different from how someone else defines it, just like with other concepts like porn, erotica, and social networking.

No, my definition of Degredation is not the absolute truth. And I am well aware that not everyone has the same definition as mine. Basically put, what I was saying is that this site is not Porn, but in my opinion(and that is the operative word here, Opinion) that this is more of an adult social network.

Any photos on the site are posted by writers. There is so much more happening and there is a real feeling of friendship throughout the site.

Exactly. To me that says social network.

And for anyone else. I'm just curious what others think. I am not trying to change anyone's outlook on what they feel is normal or not. That was never my intent. As I clearly stated what I think is degrading is my opinion, nothing more.

I will NEVER judge or think less of someone because of anything sexual inside their head, nor will I imply one sexual "kink" is "better" than another. I don't recall ever saying that this is a porn site, I've called other sites porn but not this site. if I have my mistake. I consider this more an adult social network.
