As for me, it depends on the time of year. When it's not the holiday season, I like ACT II or Orville Bed 'N' Rocker...I mean Reddenbacher (sp?) Gourmet Popping Corn, the super-buttery, cardiologist's-worst-nightmare type. During the holidays, I like the cheese popcorn section of those popcorn tins you see everywhere...yummmm!

I've also wanted to try taking the buttery popcorn and adding Emeril Lagasse's Essence.

I wasn't going to mention that, but you're right. Theater popcorn ROCKS, and there's no duplicating it. Therefore, cookie, we're both ruined.

I remember when Jiffy Pop in the foil pan was the only quick fix for the popcorn munchies. While I loved shaking the pan, the darn stuff always seemed to burn on me.

I loved it when those air popper machines came out, no oil needed. Now we seem to have mostly microwave stuff on the market.

Carrie, the butter & parmesan sounds yummy, as does your husband's butter & Lawrey's. Mmmm...

My only beef with the movie theatre popcorn is trying to get enough butter on it. Even when you ask for extra, they never layer it (popcorn... butter... popcorn...butter... etc.) It always seems to have butter on the top, and nothing from about three inches downward. Blech!
