Pop psych--how you test

What's your Myers-Briggs profile? I'm an INTP.

I can't be classified by these tests. I told that to a psychologist who asked if I had ever taken a personality test.

She insisted on giving me one to prove me wrong.

I said okay.

She began by asking me a question.

My answer was, "I don't take personality test; they're stupid."

She said, "Well, I can tell you your personality type by that answer alone."

"So tell me," I said.

So she said, "You're an asshole."

I can't remember. Can't even remember what the letters mean. But I did learn something that has served me well. I'm not empathetic, but I'm highly motivated by a sense of justice. This explains how I can care intensely about people's situations even if I don't have a sense for how they feel inside. You'd rather have me on a lifeboat with you than someone who is weeping with you.

I must say I am impressed at the many creative ways people have found NOT to take this thread seriously. I knew I could count on @Bamagan , but the rest of you stepped up your game as well.
Is there someplace online where we could take this test? How long does it take? I assume there is some validity to it, but I'm also a bit skeptical of its usefulness. I've definitely heard of it.

Myers Briggs is a test from one specific foundation/corporation/thingummy, requiring their 'certified professionals' to interpret the A-or-B choices testtakers provide. There are many sites that provide 'similar' (might be identical, might be more, might be less) functionality. A quick google'll provide a long list of 'em.

INFP here, although I used to test as an INTP. And there are people I work with who would swear I'm an extrovert. But ultimately, I recharge by spending time alone rather than by drawing energy from a crowd.

INFP
Idealistic, loyal to their values and to people who are important to them. Want to live a life that is congruent with their values. Curious, quick to see possibilities, can be catalysts for implementing ideas. Seek to understand people and to help them fulfill their potential. Adaptable, flexible, and accepting unless a value is threatened.

I don't remember. I had the test administered to me last time at my place of employment. I retired shortly after.

Ah, thanks. Here's another insight I gained from that test, that introvert/extrovert has to do with how you re-charge and expend energy. I'm a super introvert, but I doubt that casual acquaintances would think so.

The full test costs money. There are a bunch of these corporate-psych personality typing systems out there - MBTI is the best-known one but there's also DISC, Hermann, and others that slip my mind.

They're popular for the same kinds of reasons that people like astrology, but generally not regarded particularly highly by scientific psychologists.

They’re also popular as they make for easy (and lawsuit-resistant) categorizing of employees for HR types & those who find such handles useful.

Yeah, several times I have wondered if any of the corporate personality buckets have strong correlations to protected categories like ethnicity that could be used to circumvent restrictions.

Team pineapple pizza here.
Ditto! Pineapple + pepperoni for life!
Abominations! Abhorrent, despicable monsters! Tell me, curs, what other atrocities do you regularly engage in?

Eating cereal with cold milk?
Pulling Oreos apart and licking off the cream?
Mixing wasabi into your soy sauce?
Undercooking your bacon?

Heck, my nose tells me that your reprehensible lot might even go as far as underhang your toilet paper! Outrageous! Inconceivable!

*shakes fist in impotent rage*

Wait!!! Does anyone put warm milk on Wheaties or Cheerios??????
It's not very different from a bowl of oatmeal, cream of wheat, porridge, etc.
Well, aside from melting marshmallows and dyes that might mix unpleasantly in some cereals.

It's turning crispy to soggy!!!! Cream of Wheat, porridge, oatmeal START soggy!

There are a handful of cereal that I prefer with hot water, mostly the cluster cereals, but cheerios aren't half bad that way either. Although the best way to have Cheerios is with heavy cream and a sprinkling of mini choco chips.

Also, my favorite pizza is bacon, pineapple, mushroom and olives.
