Poor old Hans Schmidt
Thought he was it
Thought he was the best in town.

Then he visited Lit
And had a small fit
When he found he was way, way down.

On the list of intellects
On the list of wit
On the list of anything at all
So he decided to quit
Where he's definitely not it
And return, like a good boy, to school...

I agree with the sentiment.

Shame about the poetry.:)

PP's poetry is fine it is just more of the dirty limerick bar type poetry.

A little out of context here.

That is okay PP. I still have you on my friends list. But you are off of my great poets list. Sorry.

Not bad except for trying to rhyme all with school.

Off of my poetry critics list. :D

or it as in "the kind of cute dying dialect ?"
C'mon - just because it sounds different from the OZ dialect you've heard in your youth doesn't make it cute.
Or are you referring to the dialect they speak in New Brunswick ?

That poem is just wrong...

Hanns is the kind that will probably eventually rival yayati in goodbye threads.

Probably equal to the number of I Hate Shrub threads.

Send p_p_ to the Lit Men's room the next time he scribes some words of wit and that rhymes with ...

You two could start one of those never-ending threads you know...

You can even start without me today!

:D

But he is there all the time. Doesn't tell "p_p" all of it ?

Golden years, go-o-o-old...

You mean, he's always pissing up a rope, into the wind, tugging on SuperBush's cape?

Hey, I LIKE doggerel

Blank and free verse do nothing for me - they're a WasteLand.

We all know that our London Lefty Correspondent is an erudite and talented guy, so we can make a few concessions for his Iambic Pentameter...:D

Er, 'Teach - what's w/ the plastic Uzi - a celebration of a nameless departure, perhaps?

Explaining it takes all the fun out of it. Think...

You're not going to tell us the broken rhythm was intentionally made for pointing out the unsolved problems the disguided uneducated masses are suffering from ?

OK...OK...I get the message...

<<ahem>>

There once was a young man named Schmidt
Who thought he could take over Lit
He posted and posted until his fingers were toasted
And now each hand wears a mitt.

well it scans...what more do you want?

:D

Hey, it rhymes...it's got a little cadence...it's a cute poem.

I didn't notice the dialect. Need my accent detector on, do I?
